4 of us were there a couple of weekends ago. Rode over from Bradenton. Finally got my wife back in shape for a day ride and the Wild Turkey is a good mid-point from here. Probably won't make this shindig. Cash only is good to know. Very good burgers and gator tail and cheese Kurds too. Some real good roads through the groves around there as well.

I think I'm going to ride down from Orlando for this as well. Only about 93.5 miles down there and a place I have never been to before. Is Hwy 27 from I-4 a nice ride or mostly city riding?

It's a little of both.... good road , most 4 lane , no real big city like Orlando or Tampa....
Plenty of open road...

Now I want everyone to know & remember that there will also be about 20 GW riders there
plus all of us and it's a small place with just 1 cook so some of the meals may take a little time...
Now if I don't spend a lot of time with you it's because I will know most everyone there and I have to try and visit with " Everyone "... So don't get mad if it happens... Just remember I haven't seen some of these people  since before the crash over 2 years ago ....

Love to make the ride, gonna see how the hip feels by the end of the week. I found I can take half a hydrocodone and get good relief, yet don't get that sluggish/punchy feeling. If I took a whole one evry 4 hrs. like they prescribed....different story. Wouldn't be able to find my butt with both hands and a road map. The half pill gives me about 12 hrs. relief, often longer so will just have to see how it feels Saturday evening. And yes....I've been out on the bike with no problem but full dose as prescribed...I wouldn't even drive the car.

As a testimony to the effectiveness of a half pill, I took one this morning about 3:00am(couldn't sleep) and all I've had since is an Advil. Still walk with a limp but improving.

That would be great Larue. Hope Jack, Pappy, Bert & Sherri and some of the others from our way can make it as well. I'm thinking that if we could meet at 27 & I-4, Denny's like before, around 0930 or 0945 we can be at Turkeys by 1100 easy. John, I hope you can make the ride over, you really need some time in the wind my friend. Weather looks great too!!

Jeff and john and Jack and may be Bert and Pappy, Dennys ( I4 and HWY 27) is still the meeting point, now that TJ has updated lumch time to 12.30, and due to the fact that theres only one cook, what do you guys think about a heavy breakfast there at dennys before heading out...just a thought

Great plan my Brother.  Maybe not a "Heavy" breakfast..I'm watching my figure don't you know... Grin Grin.
For those of you not familiar with the I-4 and 27 intersection, when you get off I-4, it circles back on to Hwy 27 to a light. Denny's is straight across through the light. I'm shooting for 0930 or a little before.

All right, sounds like a plan. You know, we may be getting there a little early with the time change for lunch. I'm probably still going to get there around 0930 but if you guys want to drift in around 1000 or so, that's cool too. That will still give us some time to "Shadow Ride" in the parking lot, then on to TJ's RTE at the Wild Turkey. The more I read about this place, the neater it sounds. Sure am glad it wasn't today, it is just cold, rainy and ugly here right now! Larue may know a "scenic short cut" that will take us through an industrial park or two...inside joke... Grin

If The Sun Is Shining At 8 am , I will See You All At Denny's Around 9:45 am, If No Sun I Won't Be There. It Rained  From My House To Okeechobee & Back ,All Day, Today. This Was A 360 Mile Round Trip. It Rained The Hardest In Sebring And I Got Soaked. Went To Walmart In Chobee And Bought Another Pair Of Clothes ,Socks,& Boots So I Could At Least Start My Trek Home In Dry Clothes. By The Way This Trip I Was Wearing Full Rain Gear But With Traffic And The Amount Of Rain It Was Impossible To Stay Dry. It Looks Like They Have Been Getting A lot Of Rain In the Sebring & Okeechobee Area, The Kissimmee River Is Overflowing And Water Is Standing Everywhere. I Needed The Ride But Didn't Expect The Torrential Downpour.

Hey Bert,
I've done similar when soaked on a ride because i didn't have my rain gear...that is I stopped and bought new DRY clothes.  Instead of buying new boots and gloves, I buy small plastic bags and put them over the dry socks and back into wet boots.  I also carry rubber surgical gloves or stop at Subway and ask for a couple of their plastic gloves and once my hands are dry, I put them in the plastic gloves and then back into wet leather gloves.  Works good and saves me from having a collection of boots and gloves!

I'll Try To Remember This About The Plastic Bags. I Did Have My Frogg Toggs On But They Didn't Help Much After A Few Cars Sprayed Me With Floods Of Water. Mainly My Boots And Gloves Got Soaked And My Pants Got Wet From The Jacket Letting Water Run Down My Pants, It Didn't Help That I Was Wearing Insulated Pants Either, They Don't Seem To Dry Out Very Quickly . Just The Neck Of My Shirt Was Wet Where The Splashing Water Ran Down My Chin A Few Times. I Did Have An Extra Pair Of Gloves That Made It Home Without getting Soaked , Though They Were Damp , But Kept My Hands Pretty Warm Until I Got Home.

Well, it may not be too sunny Bert. There is supposed to be dense fog around here in the morning. It seems to dissipate pretty quickly though. John just emailed me and he is out for tomorrow too. He is just uneasy leaving Rita for the whole day as her condition, hopefully it's just a short spell, is getting worse. I'm still planning on it however. Weather in the morning would be the only obstacle for me. I may just have to leave later. Sorry to hear about your miserable ride today. There is nothing worse then wet and cold on a bike. We'll keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Thinking about it.....just called my buddy down in Avon Park who said c'mon down.
Checking weather doesn't seem to do much good if today is any example lol
Will do a once over on the bike tonight just in case it looks like a go. Let ya' know before I head to bed.
EDIT - Looking at the radar...we have a ton of this stuff coming up from the South in the Gulf. It better see a wind shift or something tonight.
