Left home in Apple Valley about 9 this morning, going through Yucca Valley to the 10. Got to the 10 and NO WIND! In the whole wind farm there were three barely turning. Turned off at the end of the wind farm to get to the 111. It amazes me how much grass and watering goes on in Palm Springs. I know they have a large aquifer, but......Our town get water from wells and during the summer my bill is about $400/mo! I have plenty of grass and such, but our area does not look like this. Fun to look at all the businesses and neat cars. We don't have many Rolls Royce's in our area. The temps were in the 80s around 11ish. Got on the Palms to Pines and what a perfect day; temps were in the 60s on top. Stopped at an overlook and you could see forever. Perfectly clear skies. Had lunch in Idyllwild (Good Times Bar and Grill) and then back down the mountain. Stopped at an overlook and saw that the windmills were still not moving....no wind at 1:30. Wow. Took the 10 to the 210 and got off on the 138 to the 178 and then home. A great 250 mile day.

Those whirly birds can be shut off you know.

Suppose that was the case?

No, there was really no wind. Even hitting Cajon Pass there was only a breeze.
