I am a newbee to valkyrie so bear with me.   Is the frame of a GL1500 the same as a Valkyrie frame. I understand there may be some subtle differences but want to clarify...I have access to a Gl1500 frame and a 1500 motor----wondering if combo would work???   Yea, I know its not a real Valk if I do this but the price is right so I must consider it.  Share any advise you have----Thanks!!!!

I think this is right:

gl1500 - goldwing - same basic motor, but very different from a Valkyrie in most ways. Even
the motor, which is probably the most similar thing,  differs by having only two
carburetors and a different cam who knows what all else... a bearing here,
a rotor there, the alternator interchanges if you put it on upside down and
backwards (or something like that  uglystupid2 )
gl1500c - Valkyrie Standard

gl1500ct - Valkyrie Tourer

gl1500cf - Valkyrie Interstate

You could build a naked Wing.....

Here is access to a parts Fiche if you want to look at differences in parts numbers..

I can't imagine that building a pseudo Valk this way is going to be cheaper than seeking out either a wreck or something in need of repairs or a high miler that needs some love.

Check out Pinwall on E-bay.  They have lots of parts, wiring harnessses etc. - all which you would need after you got a frame and engine.

I understand you want to save a few bucks, but if making that look like a Valk I think you will spend more money on parts such as gas tank fenders etc. STeady wins the race, if patient you might
find a wrecked one or high mileage one . You maybe could then swap parts from your goldwing
to the high mileage or wrecked  Valk

Pinwall on ebay  has a Valk Frame for sale $149.95 Auction price now, buy it now is 299.95

If wanted a detuned Valk I suppose you could then use the goldwing engine.
