Carb Question
«

Sorry to bring this topic up again but is there a reason to try to remove the bowls and jets without removing the carb unit from the bike? Is it that hard to replace the linkage? Seems that it would be much simpler to clean them off the bike.

u will save you a lot of time. To get them out u also have to remove the engine hanger/s. look at the procedure in shop talk.

I do my jets without taking the carbs out. Taking my time it takes me about three hours or less. I figure the less I take a part the less likely I make a mistake.

go ahead and remove them as a single bank. It's not a hard job. The service manual gives good instructions and you'll be able to do a better cleaning job off the bike.
