A Valkyrie runs so much better in cooler weather.  and just a little bit of change makes a huge difference.  It has been near 100° F here a couple weeks ago and I rode almost every day.  I didnt really notice any problems except for one day (and at the time I just thought it was me) I thought the tone of the exhaust was harsh and acceleration didnt seem as effortless as usual.  Yesterday it was in the high 70's and I went for a ride and WOW WOW WOW bike back to full power, smoother quieter acceleration effortless and strong.  Then I remembered a conversation I had with a Goldwing rider at the Stagecoach Cafe a couple years ago, how these Honda engines perform better in the cold.  The stagecoach ride is the last Sat of Dec and that year it was 28° when we left home and maybe 50° when we arrived.

I said all that to ask this....has anyone else noticed that our engines really dont like to perform in 100° and it seems the cooler the better?

Yesterday was perfect....mid to high 70's has to be the best riding temps for me and the bike, although, I do enjoy NEEDING my heavy jacket and gloves the first few cold rides of fall......but then all the winter gear gets to be a pain........

Time to ride!!

Yep! Cool air is dense air, dense air = more oxygen, more oxygen = better fuel mixture burn.

I absolutely agree, not much opportunity for cold air here in Florida. Winter cooler air, seems to run much stronger and smoother.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.
