I still try and ride once a week or so, every time I do, I only get about a mile form the house and say to myself "I shouldn't have done that".  It's just to cold here. Last week, I went about 15 miles and could smell radiator fluid. When I got where I was going, I looked at the radiator cap (where I've had a leak before), no leak. But I did see I was leaking radiator fluid from the bottom of the water pump. I can't see very good close up, even with glasses and a strong light. I was just going to order a water pump but I thought I would ask you guys if there is something else that might be leaking down there that is hard to see.  I haven't tried getting down on the ground and looking real close yet, it's just too cold and I might have trouble seeing it anyway. I assume it's either the water pump or the hose that attaches to the water pump. Any "insight" would be appreciated. I do change the radiator fluid every 2-3 years.  It's a 97 Standard, 131,000 miles. Thanks,  Gary

I'm sure others will reply with more knowledge, but the GW GL water pump can leak there because of the O-ring leaking.

Hopefully it is that, that is wrong, and not someone using the wrong anti-freeze in the bike, and the silica wearing out the water pump.

Only water from the weeping from the weep hole, no oil, shows water pump problem only, not oil pump also.

I use Prestone (grey jug) anti-freeze (orange color) that is silica free.
From what it looks like in the manual, there is only the lower radiator hose and the small interconnecting hose that could be leaking, or the water pump from the weep hole, but I ain't a mechanic and why I need the experts opinions. I assume a new water pump comes with the small o-ring on the pump and the large o-ring seal?? Thanks,  Gary

Cold weather has often caused the clamp on the upper hose at the thermostat to leak. Before you go with a pump, tighten that clamp, and see if that stops your problem. kind of a pain to get to, but usually is the problem. Fluid can travel down in some odd ways and usually ends up at the lowest point on the motor, making you think the pump. Worth a shot, and don't cost anything but some time cooldude

I was thinking that you knew for sure that it was coming from the weep hole it's self, other wise the other suggestions are correct. Verify 100% first, where the moisture is coming from.

I personally would not replace the pump if the engine is not over heating, but only the o-ring if there is leakage. I did my GL1100 pump, for this exact same reason. The leakage almost stopped completely, maybe only a drop or 2 after a drive, and no noticeable loose of fluid from the rad. Takes time and a $15 gasket/o-ring set.
