Got the carbs put back together with the 38 slows & the pilot screws slotted for easy adjustment. I know you are running the 38's.
Question... before I put the carb bank back on the bike what should I back out the pilots to? They seated real nice with the dab of anti-sieze on the threads. I put an initial 1 3/4 on them.
1997 Valk, K&N with pre-filter, glass pack exhaust, stock main jets.
Thanks in advance!

He will give you the straight scoop, but I think 1 3/4 is what has been recommended for the 38's. 2 1/4 for the OEM 35's. Actually 1/3/4 is recommended as a starting point on the 35's in the book if I remember correctly. I have my 35's set at 2 1/4 and has been working great.

I also got the scoop from John when I was doing my carbs, he did say #38 and 1 3/4 turn out..
I am running K&N without pre filter and glass packs.
Happy with the results
I am sure John will chime in momentarily and verify

Eddie, sounds good. I don't run the prefilter with my K&N and 1 3/4 was a little lean on a couple cylinders so I went out to 2. Seems to be fine now, been that way for quite a few years. I'd run it at the 1 3/4 and check the plugs a couple times after a good run or two. If they look good, leave it alone.
