need a little help. The trip odometer both trip 1 and trip 2 reset themselves when the bike starts. No problem starting or with any other electical. I checked the battery connections and they seem fine. Anyone have any other ideas.

Someone else may chime in here, but there's a splice block in the main harness that supplies all kinds of power to the instruments, among other things.
I had a problem with my CB, and sure enough, it was the splice block.
The following post refers to a different problem, but it's the same splice block and includes a photo

Just to complete the embarrassment, I'll admit that I walked out to the garage and examined my speedo. (The gauge, not the garment.)

If you've recently done something up behind the fairing, that would be suspect.
With both resetting it seems more like a computer problem since you have to push the button multiple times to change from one to the other.
Didn't notice any other peculiarities did you?

sorry for the delay but got sent out of town I have not had chance to check the splice block yet but I have reduced the problem to a power interuption that should not be there. The splice block might be it I will let you know during the weekend. Thanks for the link and the replies
