See first post below for background,
Went out and ran some errands on Sat until I went on reserve, which happened at 148 miles since I last filled it up.  Again way below what I used to get without the Dan Marc 152. Stopped and opened the gas tank in case I had pinched the vent line or something. Put it back to “ON”. Drove 2 miles and went on reserve again. Drove home on reserve and arrived at the house with 159 miles on the trip meter.

Spent the weekend replacing the Dan Marc 152 with a 111. Also replaced the cooling tube o-rings, thermostat and thermostat o-ring due to seeing some coolant on the top of the engine the last few weeks. (A whole ‘nother story.)

Finally buttoned it all up on Sunday and went for a ride. Turned the fuel selector to “ON”. Drove around until I went on reserve which happened at 195 miles.
So it appears changing from the 152 to the 111 gave me another 47 miles to reserve. That’s more like what I used to see or even better.

So maybe I did something slightly different on the 111 installation or maybe I un-pinched a line somewhere or something but I think the 152 is what affected my range to reserve.
I’ll burn through a few more tanks in the next couple of weeks and report back what I find. Wanted to get it fixed before I took a road trip to SoCal at the end of April.
So if anyone wants a 152 with about 800 miles on it I’ll ship it to you for $25 delivered.

First Post.
2001 I/S, 84,000 miles. Standard petcock rebuilt at 160,000 miles.
Over the holidays I installed a Dan Marc 152, along with doing the de-smog, plugs, coolant and rear end lube. Ever since then it appears as if I have lost about 20 miles range to reserve. Where I used to go on reserve at about 175-180 miles it now seems like it is at 155-160 miles, or just after I hit 2 bars on the fuel gauge.
I’m wondering if the filter on the Dan Marc is affecting the amount of head pressure in the tank required get adequate fuel flow to the carbs at low fuel levels.
With a full tank I’ve had it up to 95-100 MPH with so signs of starvation. But it sure seems like it goes on reserve sooner.
Anyone else noticed this?

I think others have had issues with the 152. I think the consensus is to go with the 112.

Yea, I've been thinking of swapping it out to see what happens.

I think the filter part can just be removed. Maybe that will do it. I think the orifice is .100 on yours and .125 on the #112, but maybe with the filter part off it will flow enough.

Thanks for posting this. Read up some of the past posts and it seems to me that the AFC152 has a few drawbacks and a few people have had problems with it. I ordered a AFC111 off eBay and the AFC152 goes into the bottomless spare/leftover/excess parts bin.

Glad you got it worked out cooldude I remember this happening to someone else also. I think the consensus was that the smaller orifice restricted flow enough that when the tank level got down low enough there wasn't enough head pressure. By switching to reserve it gives you a little more head pressure .

Did a 193 miles to reserve today with the non-filtered Dan Marc. My suggestion is to not install a 152

I took the filter out of my 152, I think the problem, restriction, is not the filter so much as the design of the part before the filter. After the inlet the flow goes thru 3 tiny holes, maybe 1/16", to feed the outside of the filter. I didn't try to drill them out cuz I didn't wanna take a chance of shavings getting to the carbs. Going to order the 1111 if my carbs continue to starve with a low fuel tank level. I ran 1 tank so far but couldn't tell for sure, it was very windy that day. As I posted before rvparts.com is much cheaper than Dan Marc for the same brand valves.
