Start with ck all the fuses. Next clean the ground cable attached to the back of the transmission and the neg side of the battery. Next make sure that the two wires under the right side front timing cover are connected they go the oil pressure sending unit and the water temp. If that doesn't fix your problem ck the bank angle sensor attached to the backside of the center side cover.

Hey Shakie,, if that is not the problem, check the starter relay under the R.H. side cover.

It sounds like the classic dirty start switch as mentioned. I also agree with cleaning the battery terminals and connectors especially the ground at the engine block. I don't remember if the headlight dims if the kill switch happens to be in the kill position. I don't think it does, but, it wouldn't hurt to cycle the kill switch a few times and then make sure its in the run position. If this doesn't cure your problem then look at the fuses and solenoid.

Before you do anything, I would connect a known good working battery, like from your daily driver car, not running, and jumper it to your bike.
Try to start.
Works, then you have a bad MC battery. Doesn't, then move along.
Like mentioned already, the starter switch and the starter relay under the RH side cover.

Didn't bump the kill switch by any chance did you? It has screwed me more than once because I never use it. But if you happen to bump it to the off position, it is the last thing you check, before it starts.
