It appears that many shops [even Honda shops] stock only aftermarket stuff like EBC.. Some folks like them, but, most seem to prefer the Honda stuff..

I tried EBC. Needed a lot of pressure to stop.
Went back to Honda. Much better.

Organic pads are easiest on the rotors. They don't last as long as the others but your rotors will love them.

Don't go to EBC unless changing to EBC rotors. Went back to Hondaline pads, much happier.

What happened to me was that I went to the Honda shop to get new pads, and I didn't specify Honda pads or EBC. But they had to order them, and when they came in I was surprised that what I got was EBC pads.
It was a while before I installed them, and in the meantime I read the comments about EBC pads, but I figured, how bad could they be?
Well- when I put them on I took a test spin, and couldn't belive how bad it was- no stopping power from the rear at all, and the front wasn't great either.
So I went down to the Honda shop to order new Honda pads, and lo & behold they had them in stock. If I didn't know better I'd say they knew what they were doing.
The Honda pads went on in 20 minutes and feel great.
