Thanks. Had to go to their full sight. My phone is still doubling everything but I guess I can deal with that.

Now you have a new important thing to remember.
Don't ride off with that thing attached to your bike!

AGREE with Mike !! Otus, just MY 2 cents but either drill a hole in the adapter or put in an eyelet screw and run a piece of rope from the adapter to the throttle / front brake every time the adapter is on the bike. The rope doesn't come off the throttle / brake until AFTER the adapter is OFF the bike.....DON'T ask me how I know !!!

Nice work, but really overkill to me. That 850 lb bike does not fall off the jack unless you do something really stupid. And it seems to me if you hit it hard enough to knock it off, it might still go off, with the wood adapter bolted to it anyway.
My simple wood adapter is beat up and stained thru a hundred uses, and I've never tied the bike down either. (Do use jack stands under the front guards on occasion)
Just used it again yesterday.

I built your basic wooden lift adapter, but I had seen a bracket on a metal adapter that held it to the motor using the hole that runs straight through the bottom of the motor. Thought this was was a good idea, here is my wooden version. having trouble with pics, working on it. I like your dowel pinning idea very much. I'm going to modify my wood adapter to have them.

it isn't there to hold the bike to the adapter it's just a convenience thing. You attach it to the bike and you know its right where you want it, then you only have the jack to mess with.

I understand, but once the weight of the bike is on mine, it is not moving anywhere. I do lay down on my back while getting my jack and adapter lined up just right and pumping the jack pedal with my hand to snug it up straight. Mine was not criticism, if I was a decent carpenter, mine would look better too.

Mine was not criticism, if I was a decent carpenter, mine would look better too. I didn't take it as criticism, you just missed my purpose for attaching it to my bike. As far as the way it looks, not important. The wood is clean but it's far from finish carpentry. I'm sure that I'll gunk it up in the coming years.

Nice work Otus I doubt that I will get around to doing it to mine, but I like the idea... One less thing to move around when positioning the jack.
