Rear wheel bearings
«

While doing a rear end service on my 99 I/S I spun the wheel bearings by hand. How hard should it be to spin the bearings? They were harder to turn than the front but were smooth. When I reinstalled wheel it turns free and no binding. Thanks

Just a heads up. Mine spun nice too except after I reinstalled the wheel I noticed it didn't feel right. Took the rear wheel off again and popped out the double bearing. The inside of the double was completely gone. It had been rolling on one row only.

Smooth with a little resistance (in a sealed bearing) is good. If you're unfamiliar with bearings, the best thing is to find a similar new bearing and check how it's motion feels in comparison to yours.

They should turn smooth and freely, not hard.

They don't spin if there is grease packed into them, should turn smooth with no roughness
