Can you tell me more about removing the plastic welded baffle from the air box?

Which area does this refer to? What are the results? How is it removed?

Don't remove the baffle or you will have problems.

I bought an airbox from Pinwall and removed the top airbox baffle just to experiment. It did not go well and I replaced with the stock air box cover. The bike idled much smoother, and seemed to give a better low speed take offs.

It's your bike, so do what you want, others have found that stock is best.

Like the fellas said, leave it alone !  Honda got it right so don't screw with it.  If you don't believe us then make sure you keep what you remove so you can put it back on later.

then I guess my bike shouldn't have been running for the last 30+k miles while giving back 37-40 mpg avg, higher straight hwy riding.
yes honda got it right for that Carb jetting/tunning, any airbox mods require new jetting/tunning.

Don't do it. EVERY one that I know of that tried it, put it back in!  Could NOT get the bike to run decent, unless you do a lot more to it, like CA.

Am I naive to think you can perform mods as long as the carbs are re-jetted?  uglystupid2

Not naive but many gone through the same, worked really hard just to get it back to running like it did before the mod only to return to stock and look elsewhere for more power.  Some (very few) have reported good results but it didnt sound easy

Want performance Mods?

Find Attic Rat on here. He has a performance package (it isn't cheap) that will get more out of your bike.

Atticrat takes out the baffle, but that is just the beginning of the mod. He takes out all air flow restrictions.  Bottom line is that you have to a complete job. Changes here and there only screw things up. Get the entire mod and look out.
