Did a search, didn't see anyone with this problem. I've lubed em and they just don't wanna go in by hand. Genuine Honda part. How are you guys getting em in? I hate to start poking at em with a tool-kinda negates the whole point of rebuilding the diaphrams............

Spit on it, push in with pencil eraser.  Do not use oil.

What Lee said on lubrication.  Be very careful as right next to the protrusion is the location where the last two that I installed wore through and would not hold vacuum.  I changed to the Pingel after the second one failed.

I ordered a rebuild kit for my '97 Tourer petcock out of fear of hydrolock even though it was doing fine is was 17 years old. I rebuilt the petcock but couldn't get it to work right.I just ordered a new petcock and replaced the whole thing. It works just fine now.

Silicone lubricant is an option.  I had the same problem with mine, and I wish I could remember how I solved it.  Sad

Thanks. Pencil eraser worked, tho it still was a bitch. Put the 2 rubber parts into the spacer and then feed the larger diaphram thru the the metal housing. But at least it works now.  I still think Honda outsourced this brilliant design from HD..........

Check again; they're tiny.  You might have missed them if you were looking for something closer to normal- or larger-sized.  coolsmiley
