alright, anyone change these darn things yet?  they're 12v, 3w but they're a pain to find anywhere!!  do you have to buy 'em from Honda?

they're item #12 on Honda directs web site;

http://www.hondadirectline.com/OEMpartfinder.htm#/Honda/GL1500CF_AC_(99)_MOTORCYCLE%2c_USA%2c_VIN%23_1HFSC411-XA000001/TAILLIGHT/GL1500CF-99-AC/2Y14MBYXMBY4F2900AA

I don't "need" them right away, but if I did, what would I look for?  I think they're Sylvania 24's, but those didn't fit very easily.

any help would be great!!

Alph, a lot of instrument and running lights (1157/1156 bulbs) now have improved, or brighter direct replacement bulbs.  If you find better/brighter bulbs for the IS trunk, please let us know.

Might be worth a phone call to a place like Radianz or other big light vendor.

i'll let you know jess, we've got a book at work that gives the specifications for 10,000's of electronic items from light bulbs to dimmer dials!!  if it's not in there, then i'll have some hunting to do.....

You might be able to get suitable led replacements from superbrightled's. I switched out all my incandescent bulbs (indicators, speedo/tach, brake/turn) to brighter led's from there,

Alph, if you want the best trunk lights available... and a project, check this out.  (Red Barber and Grumpy put this together I believe)

Great links!! Looks like a decent amount of work but so is getting to the bulbs on a I/S trunk. I may have to give that a try when I need bulb replacements.
