On the last ride,  when I hit the starter button,  it took a few seconds to crank and it was turning over very fast, turns out that this battery is five years old....only the 2nd battery its ever had...believe the original was a Yuasa? ??....I'd like a replacement that doesn't need the acid added and have to be recharged. ...

  Takes only a couple minutes to add acid and hook up battery tender for overnight charge and then you start out with the freshest battery possible.  why do anything else?

  and it is not really recharging, you are just doing the initial charge.

So what is your problem sonny?

I have Interstate batteries in almost every thing I have at the house except for mom's Toyota and my Dakota.    If either one goes flat, that is what they will get for replacements.

I just brought my second Yuasa battery for my 98 Tourer. The only brand that I'll buy.

Hold on.... Someone just bought a Gel or AGM for 49 bucks delivered.... Let me find it.
That was  this battery he got....    http://www.batterymart.com/p-ytx14-bs-agm-maintenance-free-battery.html

I just replaced my 7 year old plus battery with a 5 yo new battery off my shelf.....added acid, charged it and shazam.  It does turn over fast

Is that a direct replacement???

Mine isn't turning over well at all (24 hours on a charger yesterday, barely turned over today).  Either I need a new battery or I have some major electrical issues.

EDIT:::

Yes it is...   Cheesy

Sorry... missed that fact that this is the number for the battery I currently have.   uglystupid2
