Power & elegance...just like the Valk

Okay, how is this ..?
I find Hondadirectlineusa.com and other sites more "difficult" about getting my "stuff"...
Is it my computer, or is it the site ?...
WHEN will the bike get old and parts harder to find?
WHEN do we need to keep a "home-stock" for parts we maybe will need in the future?
How long will essential parts be available?

What parts will be difficult to get soon.....?

I am seeking a kinda comfort here,,I plan to keep my 2001 Valk for another 10,,,( maybe 20)   years more... what challenges will I meet

I have another problem to deal with when my 98 Valk was made I was 51 years old.

Now I'm 66 1/2 how long will my reaction times make me a safe rider? I know it's not a number
we are all different. The Valk is holding up well available parts are dwindling, for the Valk Smiley

Bone, I have a friend that is 73 years old, that rode his Harley (I`ll forgive him for that) across the country last summer. 6000 plus miles as I recall. He rides as well as anyone I know. You are correct we are all different, but I think you will know when you need to quit.

The bikes getting old, but, so am I. It'll all work out in the end.  I try to stock up on parts That I think may be needed in awhile. The parts you buy are never the ones that fail, so maybe that alone may save some work.  Smiley

Stock up on things you think you'll need or want.

I'm stocking up mainly on maintainance stuff that wears out and a few other nice to have items.

Some stuff that I already have and some stuff to get that's on my hoarding list are things like a spare alternator, starter, handlebar starter switch assembly, starter relay, spare pumpkin and rear end drive parts, u-joint, o-rings, thrust washers, like new oem stock exhaust, spare front and rear wheel, spare petcock.....and other nice to have stuff like aftermarket items that either don't exist anymore or soon to be gone that I use on my Valk, spare saddlebag rails, etc.

I'm 76 and if my wife's health allowed me to leave her home alone, I'd be doing the same thing. My bucket list includes taking a ride to Livermore, CA to see an old high school buddy. That would be a long haul from central Florida, but it's something I'd love to do before it's too late. And I still ride two wheels, not three...although I may have to before hanging it up.  Wink
