I have pulled the trigger and ordered a woody's fairing from glenn, now I need a little help in choosing the speakers. I know that I will want to upgrade in the future and don't want to have to open up the speaker holes in the future. What I need to know is what kind of speakers should I get, the out side diameter can be no larger that 6 inches. Glenn said it is ok for me to send him the speakers I want to use and he will install them for me. I was looking at the
Found these from jvc CS-V528
General Features:
5-1/4" DRVN Series 2-Way Car Speakers Power Handling: Peak: 440 watts per pair / 220 watts each RMS: 54 watts per pair / 27 watts each Carbon Mica cone material Durable hybrid material speaker surround 1" Polyetherimide (PEI) tweeter High temperature voice coil Ferrite magnet motor structure 4 ohms impedance Top-mount depth: 1-3/4"
The manual from the jvc web site says the diameter is 5 7/16 inches.
If any of yall have up graded your woody, what speakers did you use?

Pretty much most people have. I put 4 Alpine SPR-50's in mine with a Rockford Fosgate amp. I'm pretty sure a few others have used Kicker speakers.

Why a tourer? You could just take that fairing off and add speedo and tach and put woodys on your Supervalk And save a Butt load of money

I've always liked the yellow and cream Valks.
I've never seen one with a Woodys on one before, but I'd bet it'd be sharp.

Polk sells a line of speakers for a marine environment. I recently put 4 DB 501's in my Wing. They sound good in addition to being waterproof. You would need a larger diameter.

While polks are ok speakers, I have them in my interstate, your already didhing out a bunch of money for the fairing, why cheap out on the audio? Go with the best and you will never regret it. Go with cheaper you will be upgrading in a couple years.

+1 Marine speakers are fine if you find some that sound good to you. I don't see a need for marine speakers unless you like to spray with a hose directly at the speakers. Just be sure the speakers have polypropylene or similar drivers and you'll be OK.
