As stated countless times here DON'T MODIFY THE AIR BOX!

The previous owner of my Valkyrie drilled (6) 1/4" holes in the sides of the top of the air box. For two years now I believed that the Valkyries just didn't pull that hard over 4k rpm. Yesterday I plugged those holes and after some research found the previous user also adjust the fuel pilot screws (probably to compensate). I adjusted those back factory (two turns out).

My test run after I made the changes was Eye Widening. The Valk now pulls very hard all the way through the revs. Even bent my back rest in the process!

FYI - I have the Interstate Carb Springs on order and a 4 degree trigger wheel. I am super excited to get those mods made and start riding again with all this new found power. It's like the bike has a new lease on life.

I would leave the trigger wheel alone, just gonna force you to use premium gas to run right, doubt if it raised performance. JMHO. I gained HP with truck stacks with grumpy's tips over cut piggies and 1/4 inch holes drilled through rear baffles.  Not to loud, not too quiet, Mellow, 6 hp gained, according to dyno run.  Hoser

Hoser,

I have Super Trapp Exhaust and Headers. Chet from Rattlebars posted some dyno runs when he had the Super Trapp's installed (103hp). He stated better performance with the advanced timing.

I will try it, and pull if I no likey.

Air box on mine is pure STOCK-NO/NONE/NADA extra holes. Similar to Hoser-piggies cut last baffle drilled STOCK I/S tips. Mellow sound and it shitz and gitz when I twist her tail.  cooldude STOCK trigger wheel. Let us know how your mods turn out please. RIDE SAFE.

If you get 103 hp, it will be worth the extra cost of premium.do a dyno run and Let us know.  Hoser
