I put the VTX bushings in last spring. My try the redeye ones the next time. Thanks.

No one has mentioned about those nylon bushings that you can buy. It was an old post, maybe 2010. I'll look to see if I still have a link.

I just replaced my bushings with Redeyes and its improved the bike's handling in twisties considerably. My lower bushes were not split, but the top ones were beginning to split, so I caught them in time.

Also put on new tyres. Moved from Dunlop E3's to Avon Cobras. Moly lubed the splines, checked the o-rings, and pulled the pumpkin. Moly lubed the pinion cup (still nice and greasy without any rust or dirt) and the top of the shaft where it mates to the u-joint cup. All the splines on the shaft still look like new too.

Put her all back together making sure to tighten the four pumpkin bolts after the axle was torqued.

She rides unbelievably better now. Its like a night and day transformation.
