RainMaker in the house.

Thanks to all the organizers - great weather combined with fine folks for a superb Ride-in.

Went past 6 dead deer in the road on the way back - well, I went past five and right through one as the truck in front of me kept it hidden from view until too late - it covered about a lane and a half.  A bit of a bump and some souvenir deer on the bike when I got home.  It's all good.

We made it home last night, rather late.  Had another SNAFU on the way home, and the Valkyrie didn't make it back to Houston, but the girls and I are home safely.  I'll go pick up the Valkyrie next weekend if all goes per plan.  Since everything ALWAYS goes per plan, it's all good, right?

Good to hear that everyone made it back home safe…except for Rocketman's Interstate!  It seems that everyone had a good time as well…I know we did.  cooldude

Even though I managed to loose half of my group on the second leg of our Saturday ride, no one got lost or missed out on anything.  Somehow things just work out! Wink

Thanks to all who participated and to all who made this just one more great Valkyrie weekend!

Sorry to leave ya'll hanging.  There were no further mechanical failures.  Things just got to the point where I needed to drive the car home with the girls.  We managed to get the Valkyrie to my in-laws' house, and it's parked in their garage.  I wasn't planning to go to Austin this weekend with Stephanie, but if I want my Valkyrie back, and my father in law wants to park in his garage again, I will go, and ride back home.  We'll just hope that the SpaceX cargo ship can leave the space station without my help Saturday (i.e., they want me to work Saturday morning for the unberth).  I don't know if it's poetic or not, but the Dragon (SpaceX) is getting in the way of me getting my Dragon.
In the meantime, I'm getting some pretty funny looks at work when I show up on four wheels.

Steve and I want to thank all who coordinated and attended the Ride In. We are SO thankful that we had the time to take part in this whole weekend. We met SO many great folks! I wish we had time to meet and get to know more folks but those that we did get with were so wonderful and captivating, that we didn't make it much further.

A special shout out goes to Rainmaker for taking the lead on the Saturday morning ride. We enjoyed the route (I thought you might have been tapping into my GPS for that scenic goat-trail), the stops, and all the excitement...okay maybe not the flying mirrors near Steve.

Can't wait to meet up and ride with you all again. Ya'll are AWESOME!!!

I'll add my special thanks to those who took over organizational duties when I was... otherwise detained.
