The front brake master cylinder will not pump fluid. I don't see a check ball in it. Would that be because it never had one? If it did have one, would that cause it not to work? If it did have one, where would you get another?

Thanks,
Jerry

Disk brake systems typically do not have a check valve.  If they did, then the pads would not release and you will get some very hot brakes.  I have not specifically looked at my Valkyrie brakes for one, but I will be  surprised if there is a check valve.

Works for me. I ordered a rebuild kit for it, but was not sure about the little ball. Maybe it was the clutch I saw it in one time. Or maybe, I dreamed it in one of my many confusing dreams.

Thanks,

Just switched over both brake and clutch master cylinders to chrome ones. Neither has a check ball.

If you have a lot of air in the brake system after swapping brake fluid, the lever can go limp.  Maybe just needs to be bled.

Where did you get chrome brake and clutch master cylinders ?
I think I would like them with S/S Brake Lines. Cool

Bought them through Mike Terry at Valkyrie Bling and More. He just went out of business, but he may still have some, who knows?

Look for Big Mike on here and PM him.

It wont pump at all to get the air out. I will rebuild it and see what happens.

This has been a problem reported several other times and was related to captured air that cannot be released by normal bleeding processes.

Some have solved the problem by strapping the lever to the grip overnight.

Others have taken loose the banjo at the m/c to purge the unit.

Not necessarily a rebuild indicated problem.
