Thanks Strider! I saw it on the national board. What time does everyone want to meet up? We can leave anytime. Duct Tape and I we thinking of leaving in the morning and getting in some good ride time around Austin on Friday. What does everyone think about meeting at Tony's (great breakfast!) at the corner of I-10 and Hwy 36 in Sealy? Maybe let the cage traffic die down a bit and meet up around 10:00 AM? Any other suggestions?

I'm going to hold off on making any definite meet up plans until I know what Strider's schedule will allow.

Bandit, glad you will make it.

Address for the motel is:

The Heart of Texas Motel
5303 US Highway 290 West
Austin, TX 78735

Phone: 512-892-0644

IF YOU ARE COMING IN ON US 290 FROM THE WEST:

It is on feeder of US-290 West on the south side.  I think there is an exit for Monterey Oaks that will work best.  If you get to Brodie Lane, you are past it.  It is on the southwest side of Austin as you are getting into Austin.  You will pass Oak Hill area shortly before you get there.  About Oak Hill road turns into Freeway and you can actually just stay to the right on the feeder.  It is less than a mile down the feeder.

IF COMING DOWN FROM THE NORTH ON I-35:

Take the US-290 West exit and follow it to the Monterey Oaks exit.  Make a uturn under the freeway and it is right there.

If you will be coming in from another direction, let me know and I will try to figure out a good solution for you.

Look forward to seeing you.

Gonna pass a LAAARRRRRGGGEEE TIIIIIMMMMMEE~

OK, concerning the Wild Game Dinner on Saturday night.  This is a fund raiser.

The cost is $25.00 each.  Tickets purchased in advance are only $20.00.

If you will let me know, as a convenience, I will purchase your tickets ahead of time for you.  You can pay me when you see me.

BUT, tell me ahead of time that you want me to do this.

Wild Game Dinner advance ticket ordering.

I have the following who have requested that I order their dinner tickets at the 'Early Bird' price of $20 instead of the at the door price of $25.  Anyone else wanting me to order the cheaper tickets, let me know soon.  I don't want to be too late doing this.

Hey Early Bird...I'll get my own tickets, but will probably wait 'till the last minute due to my erratic work schedule.
What about the Saturday ride?  I live just off of FM1826 near Driftwood, so starting in Oakhill near the Heart of Texas Motel or in Wimberly is fine with me.

FYI, there's a great breakfast joint not to far from the Heart of Texas Motel on South Lamar in Austin.  Maria's Taco Express will set you straight.  I recommend the Migas Taco...its like comin' home!

Can't make the Gathering, but I second the motion for Maria's Taco Express!  Please note that, if there is any traffic at all (and there usually is quite a bit on S Lamar), it's much easier to enter by approaching from the south and turning right.  Ditto the exit - lefts are tough.

I am getting into town on Thursday.  Thinking of coming in the back way.  Up 967 from Buda then taking 1826 on into town.  Probably going right past your place.  Just might check out Maria's too.  Sounds good.  Looking forward to seeing you then.  Not sure of timing yet, but might check in with us Friday evening to see what the departure time might be.  You might just wish to meet us in Wimberley.  My plans are to talk to Wimberley folks Friday morning to see when our group might be easier to handle time wise.  If we leave at 7:00 we could be there about 7:30, or leave at 9:00 and hit it at 9:30.  I think we can work either way.

Just in case any are interested.

Yes, jerky preparations are complete.  Meat is in the dehydrator as I am typing this, and the last batch is in the marinade soaking overnight.

I am pretty sure we are going to have over 20 folks in for this gathering.  Sounds wonderful to me.  In case I forget, remind me to break out the jerky.

For those coming, I have ordered advance dinner tickets for the following:

Lyn-Del & Wizard
Hot Glue & Flamingo Babe
Hard 6 & Strider
Gear Jammer & Sugar Plum
Early Bird & Santa Chuck
Bandit

If I missed you, please let me know as I think there is still time to order advance tickets.  Cost is $20 in advance, $25 at the door.

My e-mail is above or my cell phone is: 281-467-3909

Can't wait!!!! Can't wait!!!! Can't wait!!!!

Hey Early Bird, you will be going past/near my place if you come in through Buda and up 967 to FM1826.  (FYI, the Salt Lick BBQ is right there at 967 & 1826...cash only, BYOB, Lunch and Dinner.)  Once you are on 1826 headed towards Austin you'll see Crystal Hills Drive to the right just past the Hays County Fire Station to the left.  Its about two miles from 967 and my neighborhood is called Goldenwood West.

Right now my schedule is pretty flexible the later part of next week.  Give me a ring...512-422-8636

I have not made a firm decision on that as yet.  I am thinking the earlier we can hit the Wimberley Cafe for breakfast the better our chances are for missing the Saturday crowd.  Hopefully, no later than 9, which would have us leaving motel by 8:30, I think would be better to leave earlier but we shall see what others think on Friday night.
