Today I bought the Kuryakyn universal throttle lock and did not find it as plug and play as the directions stated. First they give you an assortment of rubber rings to fit different size hand grips. None of them were the right size, I cut a strip of garage weatherstripping I had left over to line one of their rings that was too big. Then when I had it all together and was fine tuning it the throttle was coming back real slow. The spring wasn't long enough to spread the metal band enough to let loose of the throttle ring. So I took the metal band off and spread it a little and it worked good but now the spring just lays there flopping around uselessly, so I put a spacer under it and now its tight enough to not be an annoying rattle. Not happy with the look of the spacer so I'll be looking for a better spring. With my couple of small modifications it works good and quite easy to use. I think I'll be happy with it, but I think it should have came that way.

Nothing comes as represented now days.   Almost everything I buy has to be modified.
I hope all of your modifications work and work safely.   cooldude

Yes, I really like those BF. But $30 vs $190 for a temporary solution.  I shooting for an actual cruise control by my big trip in August.

I see the Kuryakyn throttle lock on the picture of your bike. You must have upgraded since that picture was taken.

I have upgraded since that pic yes, but the throttle lock on there in that pic is the cheap $30.00 one they mention in that video above.  It's garbage.

I kind of pointed that out in my review with all the tweaking I had to do to get it to work properly. You get what you pay for, the break away is I very nice lock. This will have to do me for a little while.

I've been using the CAM-LOCK from http://www.madcorider.com for six years.  It is polished aluminum and works very well.  They have other items specifically for the Valkyrie, and are a pleasure to deal with.  They also have made a clutch side spacer that matches the CAM-LOCK.  Ask about it, it is not advertised.

I have no association with this company other than a customer...

Another throttle lock that looks promising is found in the thread below. My son-in-law came by yesterday on his new Honda NC 700X and he had the Omni cruise on his bike, not bad.

This is what I've been using.   I might take some tweaking too but it works for me and it's only $20.

This is what I have too Plunker and I really like it.  Looks like it belongs on the Valk.
