2 years ago I bought a 2000 Interstate. when I got it home I found 1 of the screws that holds the left speaker panel to the fairing was loose and not able to tighten it. Took apart and found the plasic around the brass insert was broken and not enough to hold the insert. Tried different addhesives to try and repair with no success. Last week Jet Driver posted about a product called Plast-Aid. I order some and recieved it yesterday. this evening I tried it and success. 30 minutes later and my fairing is repaired. My opinion is that everyone should have this in their shop. Thanks again Jet Driver. This was driving me crazy, er.   cooldude

I don't know if you tried JB Weld, but I've had good outcomes using it to keep the brass pieces in the fairing. I think I've used it on almost all of them now and can finally get my fairing off without dealing with the brass turning in place.

FYI, Plast-Aid for a few cents cheaper and free shipping (if you spend $25 or have a Prime membership): http://www.amazon.com/Plast-aid-80400-Plastic-Repair-6-Ounce/dp/B004DFHSM6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399465922&sr=8-1&keywords=plast-aid

Glad to hear it worked for you.  I saw the stuff in a magazine and ordered it right away.  Now I'm just waiting for something plastic to break so I can use it! Grin
