I'm anticipating removing the radio and CB and controls from an Interstate. Has anyone done this? Any Issues? What about the Clock interface that's built into the radio controls? Any comment or info appreciated

People remove and sell the CB set up, but the radio is pretty integral to the machine.  What do you gain by removing it?  Just leave it there, and turn it off!  Even if you do not use anything, at some point in the future another owner will probably want them, and the value of the bike will be a lot lower without it.

I took my radio and speakers out ( I hardly ever listen to the radio in any format, so why on the bike) I just unplugged everything and replaced the switch tower with a bracket from a standard or tourer. Only downside is no clock.

Unless you are trying to recover some cash, just unplug the radio/cb control on the bars, and remove.

Your cb is under the truck or the seat? Either one, you can't see it. The radio is usually also under the seat, and again, can't be seen. Antennas are easy to remove. Unbolt and disconnect.

What about the speakers? Going to remove them also, and build some new inner fairings to replace the ones with holes in them?

Just turn it off and remove the antennas. You'll still have the clock and fuel gauge.

Guess it makes more sense to just turn it off and remove the Antennas. I just don't see much use for either radio or CB. I plan on using Bluetooth headset for communication and listening with IPOD/IPHONE for music and radio. Much simpler with no wires.
Thanks for the input

You do know you can connect your ipod to the existing radio system?

There is an aux input, for any 3.5mm (?) speaker jack to plug into, under the RH side cover.

Yep and only one wire. I bought an extension and ran it under my tank to come out by the bars and put my IPod in a tank holder made for an iPod (magnetic) but covered with rubber so no scratches. Only Drawback is that the holder has Harley on it tickedoff but it don't know it is on a honda 2funny 2funny I found it at the Harley shop for about $20 and used it when I had my Street glide.
