Just received an answer from National Cycle regarding my windshield assembly that needs a new "glass". They said that it's an old style and they don't make replacement glass for it.
Is there any companies that can make a "glass" for it? The whole unit (bracketry) is in nice shape, just the "glass" needs to be replaced.
I was a little upset, they didn't offer another part or assembly number, just no, too old.

Anyone have any Ideas?

Thanks,
Larry in East China Mi.

Larry I'm not going to be any help because I'm in the same boat. I have NC windshield that I bought used a few years ago. I really like it. Just the right height  for me at 19". It's not the Tourer shape but when I ride the bike I can't tell anyway. A few months ago mine started to spider web, bad enough that it's not safe to ride at night with it. And, as I come home  from work at 3amish that's not good. I called National Cycle also. No go, told it was too old, no replacement for it . Too bad too, because like you, the brackets are still fine. Good luck with your search.

I'm no help either, but I wanted to chime in.  I also had a National cycle windscreen, starting to crack around the mounting holes.  Contacted them and they said the same thing.  Looked at their "Switchblade" and thought they were cool, but otherwise looked suspiciously similar to the "old style" windshield. Also, there's no way to lock the shield on the valk.  So, I decided I didn't want to reward them for their what I consider poor customer service, decided to spend extra money and effort to get the bike back to original. Found a set or tourer brackets (well, they found me I guess, on this site).  Pretty good deal compared to Honda, ($1000 all told for Honda original if they even still carry it all, brackets only!) Still had to buy a windscreen, got a clearview (be prepared to wait 3+ weeks for the clearview...).  I believe the aerodynamics of the factory design are better than the National Cycle. Even though the clearview shield does NOT wrap around the bottom of the headlight like the factory design does.  Overall I'm happy, though I spent quite a bit more money getting it done.  The factory design, in my opinion, is a much better looking shield, and more easily removeable than the NC design I had before (though not as easy as the switchblade would have been).
Ok, rant over.

97Euless....Yeah sometimes it sucks having to spend more money than want or have, to get basically the same thing you already have. Larry and I are in the same boat. I agree with National Cycles customer service. They weren't rude at all, it's just that it seemed because our bikes aren't made anymore they didn't care about them or us anymore either. Oh well, their loss not ours. Moving on. You probably got a far superior product with the Clearview anyway. That is the direction I'm going to go myself. Thanks for chiming in.

BTW, If you get a chance, can you post some pictures of your bike with the Clearview on it? What size did you end up going with?

Ok, I've got the set of Tourer brackets coming my way. Bigchris99 made mention of the Clearview replacement windshields. Are there other brands to consider? Amyone with a favorite or other suggestion please post.

Thanks,
Larry in East China Mi.
