I arrived home late last night from Ocala to visit with my Mom and found stuff had somehow fallen off the wall and shelf where I park my bike. It was all on the bike and on the floor around it. I think a motorcycle sign fell off the wall first and probably hit other things on the way down, causing a chain reaction. I didn't touch it, just walk passed it sick to my stomach.
I now have to leave for a visit with Andreas Mom and will walk passed it again...I will check it out tonight. I did for some reason cover it with a thick blanket/comforter the other day. I don't know why, as I never do that? I will cover her with a sheet during pollen season, that stuff somehow gets in the garage and on everything. But have never used a comforter before.
Hopefully it provide some protection Embarrassed

I hope so for you Doug. I bet the comforter stopped anything serious from hurting that pretty bike of yours. My wife has a bad habit of leaning things up against the bikes and setting things on the seats. Drives me crazy Angry!!

I hope everything is well under that comforter.  Gravity had a hand in my post from earlier this year. (the wife didn't help things either)

Bike is ok cooldude Even a lantern and screw on propane cylinder fell. They must have glanced off the side somehow. I was feeling sick about this, boy I got lucky. I was expecting to find something like you had YoungPUP

Well now I am worried about leaving mine uncovered.  Glad you did not have any damage.

With two interstates in a ten by twelve shed with all tools, equip, parts, helmets, gear, jacks, stands, oil, fluids, rope, and much more stacked up the sides and back, my upwardly stored chit is secured and packed like on a rolling ship.  What I have to be careful of is deadwood dropping 60 feet out of old oaks, and acorns...... and a metric ton of oak pollen this time of year.  My dark green roof now looks like a fuzzy brown teddy bear.

Glad it turned out well Doug.  We always keep old sheets on the bike to keep dust off in our shop as I refer to it.  Wouldn't help if one of the oak limbs came down as Jess suggested.

Glad to here that you dodged tragedy, because any damage to your beautiful phat gurl would be tragic! I love the colors.  I did not see those colors until after I purchased my bike. I really like James' color too ... he explained the differences and the detail of work you have put into your bike.

Wink  Glad all is well Doug! I too throw an old comforter over the machine when it's down for a couple of days. Bikes, like classic and custom automobiles just attract falling objects, belt buckles, and mystery scratches.

You should be feeling more comfortable about leaving a comforter on the phat gurl. Grin

IMHO, bicycles should under no circumstances ever be allowed in the same building with motorcycles.  They always fall and hit (cars and bikes), and always mark.  And those who ride them are never careful enough.

I took ours out, and hung them on hooks on my fence, and tacked a hanging tarp above/over them. (behind the sheds, not visible and not easy to get to, but not falling on my bikes)

Doug

glad it is all okay, I don't know if I would have been able to walk away and wait to find out if there was any damage.

My wife, son and daughter know not to get too close to my bikes and they do tease me sometimes when they walk by or when friends come over.
I do have some bicycles close by,I am thinking they will be moved to a different spot pretty soon.
Heck, I might just build me a motorcycle room inside the garage  2funny
