Welcome Valkychick.  You couldn't find a nicer group of people.  Unfortunately for me I only get to spend about six months with them.  But I am hoping to see a bunch of them at Inzane.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes. Glad to be here. I have been itching to go on a decent ride. The little jaunts about town I have been doing are just not enough. I'm ready when you are. Let's Ride. Anyone been to the Red Wing on 33 in Groveland? Good Food, Great Ride!

Valkychic; Keep an eye here for rides as we have quite a few. I'm always out on the weekends.
I'll mostly head up towards Brooksville because of all the nice roads up there. I know Doug wants to do a ride up towards Inverness. Maybe he'll chime in and see if it's this weekend.   Cheesy

Well, another unsuspecting Valk rider joins our august group!!  crazy2 We like it here, it grows on you. One thing you'll run into; Bill Gurney's name is Grumpy...and he isn't. Mine is John....and I am.  ???  Evil  We have our faults....well, most of us anyway. Tropic Traveler...he likes to ride when the temps match the surface of the sun, but will start to layer up when it drops into the frigid 70's. We have one or two guys that I don't think ever spend more than eight hours at home. Some have pipes loud enough to make Helen Kellar wince. Just to mention a few....and those are the normal ones.  Cheesy

Welcome to the group! The Red wing is one of our favorite restaurants, and we ( Jeff k. and Jo k.) go there pretty often. Not much of a ride for us though, just down the road Smiley

http://www.redwingrestaurant.com/

A couple miles South of Groveland, John.

Unfortunately, We don't get as much chance to ride as others here. Hopefully we will see you at one of the group get togethers in the future!

There used to be a good Tex-Mex place right in Groveland, closed a few years ago. The name Willies stick in my alleged mind. Right about where 19 goes north off 50. Don't know what's in there now but the former's food would keep you a couple inches off your saddle for an hour or three.  Roll Eyes

Thanks John for the little member bio, now I know what I'm getting into. Looks like I'll fit right in.

A ride this weekend would be great Billy, I'll watch for a post. Do you normally do a Saturday or Sunday ride?

Oh Sure, Jo get's to be the Lucky one who lives down the road from the Red Wing. I don't like her already. (That is sarcasm, I don't mean it)

Does anyone know "Jerry" from Clearwater? He turned me on to the VRCC.

I have passed by the Redwing countless times and this is the second time I have heard it has great food in less than a month.....! Karma?
Spent a lot of time down at the Glider Port on the west side of 33. A  buddy of mine owns a hangar there and we used to do some flying off the grass strip there.

Did I hear Inverness? Sleepy Hollow?

Welcome Valkychic, is that your real name?? We do like to see pics of your bike..as Jack (FlRider) said. Sherry, (and Jerry) from Zephyrhills and I like to know real names unless your in witness protection. My name is Jeff by the way. John isn't actually grumpy at all actually, just slow... Grin. He is pushing 100 so we just accept him as he is! This is truly a great group of people and we have been blessed with a load of new members of late, many from your area. The knowledge base of these men and women is just unbelievable when it comes to these Valkyries..and a bunch of other stuff too. Oh..We are a fun group in all the months..not just in August as John misstated earlier!! Again..Welcome.

While in flight home last week Jerry and Sherry texted me for a early Saturday run.  Pretty sure it will happen and Jerry will post it around Thursday.  Billy usually joins any rides.  I think Jerry wants to check Flora City area.  John Paul is also joining us.  Guessing we'll meet in San Antanio near the church.

I am not in witness protection, but I am wanted in 36 states  Roll Eyes. I have begrudgingly added my name next to ValkyChic. It's your fault Jeff if they come and take me away.  Wink
Hope to see some of you this weekend. I will watch for ride updates.

Jeff: au·gust (adjective) : having a formal and impressive quality.

Geez....pushing 100??  OK...so I'm closer to 80 than 70, but....100?   Grin  Yeah, I do have a couple parts that probably need an overhaul but they all still work. Some are like squeaky brakes; if they squeak you know they're still working, just not as good as they used to. If I can get the pain under control I'd love to join up with you guys this weekend. I could probably make the ride to Red Wing, if not on the bike then I'll 4-wheel it....but even that hurts some.  Angry

And just to add to the fun, the new cardio. dr. hung a 24 hr. monitor on me, wants to see if the old ticker skips at all. So I asked if I can have sex, he said "sure can."  So I asked if he would put that in writing so I could show it to Rita 'cuz she won't believe me. He wouldn't do it....so looks like another ten years.   2funny

Ohhh...that august. Thanks for the clarification! Sorry for the age shot my friend. I still hope I'm doing as good as you when I'm your age. And I'll ride behind you anywhere you want to go, any time! Hopefully this heart monitor thing will help him decide on the pacemaker or not. Either way you will be better for knowing what's up.

Yeah, would be great if you could make it up there, just be sure to bring something along to fill the time. It's a rather quiet time....no loud partying, attendees are usually up at 9:00am and in bed by 9:00pm. Rides are usually organized well ahead of time and have both supervision and a clean up truck following. And keep in mind...they drink nothing stronger than pop....and pop liked straight whiskey. You're gonna love it!  2funny
