I just got back from topping off with non-ethanol and Lucas fuel treatment.
I had 143 miles on the last tank riding home from the Cove, well actually Sleepy Hollow.
It took 3.4 gallons...That's 42.058 mpg. I have never achieved that before on my Valkyrie. Shocked

i had similar results with a 90 octane ethanol free from a Raceway in Palatka, 39 mpg best ever, then i tried a 89 octane E free from a Gateway in St. Aug. it did not provide the same results or i did more over the speed limit driving, only 32 mpg and my Valk stunk up the garage with that fuel.. anybody ever notice that ?? recently switched back to 87 octane regular and got 39 mpg and no stink.. ??

Doug I have always heard that if you keep it below 3000 rpm you will notice the difference.  cooldude  Must have been some good roads so that you could take it easy.

Doug

Just ran a test tow to 75 chrome shop and back.  Got 26 towing at 75 MPH.   (the first and last 10 miles were US 52).

What are you doing Friday night?

Todays ride while heading out to meet up with Todd & Pennie I passed a 110 CI Harley. He didn't like that and flew by me. We then road together at 95-105 mph until my exit. when I gassed up I made 32 mpg at speeds above 95 mph. I'm impressed.
Then on the way home we ran between 75-80 mph, Got home and topped off with non-ethanol and was pleased to see 38 mpg at highway speeds. I have no problem getting 40+ mpg with the tach at or below 3k.
I still really enjoy riding this old bike, I still smile like the first time.

3k on the tach is only about 65 mph (indicated) on either of my Valks.
