Hey just want to make sure I'm on the right track before I hack up my new stacks.
I need to cut to my desired lenght, then cut a slot down the side to allow the stacks to pass the bracket that holds the muffler.
Is that the best way & what do you use to cut so it doesn't blue the stack?
Thanks,

Hey phil, I put blue painters tape on mine and used a square to draw my lines. I then used a jig saw to cut the section out. Peel the tape off and your done. I also tig welded my stacks to the cans because they were a little loose. Put about 8 tack welds on each stack. So if I ever have to replace them it's going to take a ittle work with a cold chisel and hammer to break them free.

Same here. I used blue painter tape to mark them and used a Jig saw with a blade for metal. I did not have to do anything to hold them on. They were very very tight and I could not get them off when I sold the bike.

I think the reason mine were so loose is because I pretty much cut the cans off at the mounting bracket. Thinking it would give it a little more noise, and I think it did. So all that was holding it on was and inch or 2 of solid truck stack then the split stack from the bracket to the front.

I used masking tape and a new fine tooth  blade in my hacksaw and went slow and easy. Took very little time or effort.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I used taped and my saws all. Yr later i ran a self tapping screw from the back side cause the stacks would work loose.
