If you are planning a visit to the Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum in Maggie Valley, the VRCC members will receive a $2 discount off of the admission price. VRCC price is $10 per person.

I have just spoken with Dale Walksler, and he is excited to entertain our group. Open 9am-5pm daily and closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Try not to miss this national treasure of rare and all running motorcycles. It's the stage for "What is in the Barn?" on the Velocity Channel.

Getting there via the Blue Ridge Parkway is icing on the cake! The section of the BRP from Asheville to Maggie is a most spectacular ride, full of vistas and mountain tunnels with a 45mph speed limit and NO COMMERCIAL VEHICLES!

Ar you planning this ride for the group that will be on a certain day and time? or is this a self guided ride to the museum and say we are vrcc members

They CANNOT open for us on either Tuesday or Wednesday for liability concerns. They are planning to cut down a large shade tree in the parking lot during those closed days. If you plan to go as a group or individually, just mention the VRCC. $10 per person price.

From ground zero to the museum in Maggie Valley is about 40 miles straight line distance. The options from the Clarion Hotel are...

The I-40 route, it will take about 45 minutes one way and is the fastest. The Blue Ridge Parkway route, its longer... with twisties, scenic overlooks, mountain tunnels and a low speed limit, will take about 2.5 hours one way. I usually take one route in and the other route out. It makes the day very productive and spectacular.

There is no gas or food on this southernmost leg of the BRP(Asheville-Cherokee), so gas up in Asheville or Maggie Valley. You will have to zoom in pretty close to see the BRP on Google Maps. Its not prominent nor displayed as a route choice since commercial traffic is prohibited. Sweet!

Big Mike, Brother Dan and I went over Monday morning.  It was a great ride and great museum to spend a couple of hours in.  The big elk standing by the side of the road was kind of interesting also.  Don't see many of those in Ohio.  Found the best blackberry cobbler since Grandma died in Maggie also.
Thanks to everyone who helped put the week together.
