Hi all,

My Valk had Hondaline Triple Tips on it when I bought it. I never really liked them much, thought they looked too long and a bit messy. I bought a set of original tips from BlueValk (thanks mate) and had them shipped down under.

I am really happy with the result - much cleaner looking.

What do you all think?

Cheers,

Mark

I like my triple tips, but I have bags... maybe they are a little
much on a Standard...

If your triple tips are still good, a whole bunch of people
probably want to buy them  cooldude

8track,

I just bought an oem exhaust set for my bike and was thinking about trying to find some triple tips until I saw them on someone's bike close up. Thought the same thing as you, I prefer the original tips much cleaner look. I may go to the truck stacks at some point in time if I hang onto the bike.

Nice looking ride you have there, hope mine turns out that good.

Hi Flint,

So you have a black and orange one too? Not very many of these around.

What work are you doing on yours?

I prefer and have the triple tips.  However, I think the truck stacks with tips might even look better.

8track,

Just bought the bike a month ago, been sitting since 2004 and needs lots of care to get her back on the road. Carbs cleaned, all fluids changed ,tires, brakes and oem exhaust. Bike has 5866 miles on it.

Bike the day I brought it home next  to my vtx

Flint.....

Is that Harbor Freight table lift of yours at full extension/full hieght?  If not, how much higher will it go?

Any issues working on your Valk with it on the lift?  How steady is it with the Valk on it?

Hi Flint,

It sounds like she's in great hands. About the only difference I can see between our bikes is the reflectors. Here in Australia we don't have side reflectors, so the one on the rear guard is missing and the one on the radiator is replaced with a black piece of plastic. It also looks like you have two red reflectors on the license plate holder whereas I just have one.

Cheers,

BF,

The table looks to be about 3/4 of the way up in that picture. The only time I keep the bike all the way up is when I am working on the lower part of the bike, also have a stool to sit on when needed.
Lift height is 29 1/2. Bike is real steady on the lift and have had no issues with the lift other than the wheel chock.

Here is a picture of the lift all the way up with hf wheel chock

This is a picture with my homemade wheel chock

I must respectfully disagree.  I really like my triple tips and have received positive comments on them.  I guess this is why we are not all riding Harley Road Kings.  Everyone has a different opinion of what looks the best.  I am glad you are satisfied with your new look.  I have no objections to the original tips, I just like the triple tips better.

Hey thats cool! I totally respect that people like different things. I probably go against the grain of most Valk owners in that I don't want to dress my bike up and modify it from stock appearance. I have over two years of ownership stripped off all the aftermarket stuff it came with and returned it to its original state.

I think the triple tips under hardbags look great. Not so much without bags.  Used to have both, I settled  on truck stacks with grumpy's tips.  Hoser

Bumping this a bit:

There is gaudy chrome...and then there is safety chrome. An add-on should perform a useful function OR replace a stock part. IMNSHO it shouldn't just add weight.

Anyone remember the Cobra taper tips? I got a set cheap...back in the day when no one loved them...and they are proudly affixed to my Tourer's exhaust.  cooldude
