If I am wrong, someone please correct me but I think this past Saturday, August 1st was the 10th anniversary of the formation of the VRCC. On that day, 08/01/99 I was roaming through the F6 Rider site & saw an invitation to join a new internet Valkyrie club for FREE. Needless to say, I jumped on the chance to join and was surprised that I got member #152. I thought, man, this thing is gonna be big, 152 people signed up in only a few hours. Little did I know what this club would become. That 1st year with the anticipation of our 1st National(or international) rally was really something. Zanesville, Ohio was chosen as the site, the rally was dubbed "Inzane", and the participants were "Inzaniacs". Zanesville was only a 5 hour ride for me and I can still see the huge Rivco balloon flying over the Holiday Inn as I approached on I 70. I met many new friends during those 4 days, most of whom I had spent time with in the chat room until the wee hours. Most of those folks have moved on although still see them from time to time when we meet in the Smokies for some riding. The VRCC has introduced me to some very good friends locally whom I would have never met if not for our common love, the Honda Valkyrie. These good friends are Solo 1, Mad6Gun, Physcotic Bovine, EEEZZRIDER, Fudgie, and Doubletee(where are ya Tony?). I have met others from far away probably never to be seen again, but still I consider them part of my extended family. I'm not sure just how much longer I'll have the Valk,(no immediate plans to sell) but when the time comes, I will still consider the years starting with 08/01/99 to be very special. Be well my friends and ride safely.

Wow, I'm sorry we missed that!  I knew it was this year, but didn't know the actual date.
We did mention the anniversary at InZane this year... but i wish I had known the date!

BTW, I hold fond memories of meeting you and all the others at that first InZane... not to mention those daily "chat" sessions.

Thanks for bringing the date to our attention!

Belated Happy 10th b-day VRCC!!

You can't do much about the length of your life, so focus on the width.

Hi, Doug.  I bought the Valk in April, 1999, but didn't join the VRCC until much later, hence the member number 5123.  I really wish I'd joined earlier.  We hope all is going well for you.  Ride Safe, Friend.

I got my I/S in May of 2001 and was pointed to the VRCC about a month later. Someone left a VRCC card on my seat and I thought I would check it out ... been coming back ever since.

Happy Belated 10th Anniversary VRCC!

that FIRST IZ brings back many, many memories. Yes, the HUGE RIVCO balloon....all those burnouts in the parking lot....the wedding party and Tigger and the "horn helmet" (Ok, can't remember FOR SURE if that was the FIRST YEAR...or the second year...at Zanesville?). Dragbars, Lisa, Vicky/TNT, MasterBlaster...all dressed up "in costume" for their skit....the Teresa Drags on the semi truck (again....first year...or second year? TOO MUCH ALCOHOL HAS PASSED SINCE THEN!!!).

Ahhhhhhhhhh............back "in the day".........

Happy Anniversary VRCC.... cooldude
