Michelle is wacky alright but she has a point here. Our (at the time only) U.S. senator Amy Klobuchar interceded on behalf of a metro area car dealership that GM was going to close. After the intervention GM reversed their position. It saved the dealership and jobs, but to me at least, represents an inappropriate use of political influence and privilege.

My point exactly. This crap has corrupted our government. When our politicians leave office they often become lobbyists and lobbyists are appointed as cabinet members. It is an incestuous cesspool of greed and influence peddling. "Government of the People, by the People and for the People" as long as those people are wealthy and connected.
