Is there a difference in a Tourer or Interstate alternator?  Thinking about getting a spare for my Tourer.  Could the Interstate have more output for more accessories?

The basic alternator is the same for all models.  I do believe the IS part has an additional resistor or some thing like that attached to deal with interference for the CB, but its still the same alternator

An add-on noise suppressor for the IS/GW models.

If I remember correctly, it's just a big capacitor, and most likely will last.

Go to this link and find the GW alternator.    It is mucho cheaper in price, and works just as well.

It is on the right hand side and a ways down in the file.

The IS has a different part number for the rotor than standard/tour bikes.
And the added noise suppressor on the wiring harness.

So they are NOT the same...
