Installed one on my 12 model. Can't remember brand but mine is polished aluminum. They make them in the black also. The one I have is not very thick and can bend easy. On the F6B, Goldwings and probably Valkyrie the anti freeze holding tank to me is open game for something to hit it. Only reason I have one. While meeting the gang while home last time I hit something in the road and made a pretty good sound. Got home and looked and the pan was bent where it took the hit. Wasn't close to the anti freeze tank, but dead inline with my oil filter. I think a guy over on the 1800 board makes some like the diamond plate. Not a pricey item, but might save you a head acke down the road. It has a removeable from section so you can change to oil filter without removing the whole thing.

David,
Some have said on the F6B forum that the belly pan also helps reduce buffeting in windy conditions. I planned on getting a black one mostly because I liked they way it cleaned up the underside of the bike. LOL

It clean it up nicely. I think they look better on the black bikes. Kinda goes with the flow of the bike. Kinda wished they had the black wings out when I bought mine. I likes yours and Cajunriders. I love my blue one also.

Just curious as to why you think y'all need a belly pan on our wings and didn't on our Valks? What is different that needs the protection? Just asking.  Smiley Thanks

The old Valkyrie didn't need them because the anti freeze expansion tank was behind the left side cover. On the Goldwings the bottom of the tank is exposed at the back of the engine just ahead where the center stand hooks up. I'm taking that they put the tank in the same place on the new Valkyrie's. Even had to be careful when putting a jack under the wings and not catch the tank. To me they should have put a shield there. There has been a few cases where a sharp object has cut the tank and emptied all the anti freeze out. Honda's cure for the shield was a piece of tin foil taped to the bottom of the tank. Cheap man fix.
