First off, I know I was in the wrong and will pay the fine. Yesterday I headed to the gym early ( 4 Seasons- Glassboro), when I walk out I see a cool Black Std with aftermarket bags and windshield parked on the sidewalk. I snap a photo of it and leave, Valks are rare around here. So today after riding from work, I head to the gym with my bike and park in the same spot hoping to run into the other Valk. He wasn't there and since I had a short time I was only in the gym for 35minutes. as I come out a Glassboro cop was checking out my bike the way everyone else does. So I say lightheartedly "Am I getting a ticket?". He walks to his car and smugly says "What do you think?" And drove away. I walk over and see my $43 parking ticket jammed in my seat. SO if anyone reconizes that Valk in the Glassboro NJ area, let them know not to park on the sidewalk. Tonysax

Ouch!, At least he could have been nice and talked to you some. I feel your pain. I guess we were lucky the day we all parked.

That, and parking in the striped area adjacent to a handicap spot. I recently warned a kid about that in front of the local Einsteins Bagel shop. He very eloquently told me to f..off. Couldn't have been more than a minute later, who should come along but a member of the local constabulary. I was standing behind the jerk in the order line when someone commented about "some jackass is getting a ticket on their motorcycle." The kid runs out and commenced to argue with the cop....to no avail. Cost him $250 for parking in that area, cop told him the same thing I did....that's part of the handicap spot and is for vans with side loading wheelchair ramps. When he came back in he accused me of calling the cop. I asked how that was possible when I followed him in and was right behind him all the time. Guess he won't do that again any time soon. I then pointed out where I had parked my bike, told him he was more than welcome to share the slot with me, and didn't cost nearly as much. By then the cop had circled the lot and stopped again, this time the kid just got on and rode off...mad as hell.

.......do yourself a favor ....I used to live in jersey....got a parking ticket once at a restaurant I used to frequent...had a sweet black turbo sports car......pet peeve of mine has always been ass hats who park next to you...open their car door into yours....leave a nice ding and walk away.....so I used to always park my car up against a small concrete island in the parkinglot....I used to always sit at the counter and there was this small news paper store next door....one day a guy I knew was sitting at the counter next to me and goes....hey...isnt that your car that cop is giving a ticket to ? ...I ran out but he was already done and headed for his car...he gone into the paper store to buy something...came out...saw my car and gave me a ticket...I knew the owner of the restaurant and his mother owned the entire corner and all the stores on it...he wrote me a note dsaying I was a personal friend of his and I had permission to park there......but I still went to the library and looked up the "statute" he wrote me up under....when I found it ..it read that it was for a vehicle...that was illegally parked on the shoulder of a main road...and was impeding the flow of traffic......so I went to court...plead ...not guilty....prosecutor couldnt believe it until I showed the photo copied copy of the statue out of a New Jersey Book motor vehicle statues....he read it ...handed it back to me sand said....wait here...I,ll be right back...I see him walk up to the cop and talk to him....cop has his back to me...I see both his hands go up in the air and him shaking his head back and forth....prosecutor holds my case until all others are done and the court room is virtually empty....then he goes up innfront of the judge and says...your honor ...for reasons that I dont want to go into right now...the prosecution drops all charges against Mr Spencer......I walked out with out paying a dime...did it twice..to the same township....same prosecutor...2nd time was for tinted indows on the drivers window...which Im sure you are aware are illegal in NJ....got a ticket in one of those on the spot inspections that set up along the roadway...went to the library...looked up the statue....said tthe statue was written in like 1928...for another eason...went on to say that there was a test case in Kansas....person was found not guilty and the judge declared that the statue did NOT imply tinted windows and that it could in no way be used for tinted windows....walked into court...like 3 other people that moring pleaded guilty to having tinted windows....finally same proscecutor walks up to me and goes...Dave Spencer ?..I smile and go...yeah...he goes...tinted windows right ?..I go...yup...and he goes...you,re pleading ...not guilty ?...at which point I took out the photo copy of the test case and said...sir...correct me if Im wrong.....but....he saw the test case and held up his hand for me to stop speaking...and walked away...end of court...all most everyone gone....he goes up infront of the judge and goes...your honor...for reasons we dont want to go into now...we want to drop all charges against Mr Spencer...this time the judge turns to me and goes...Mr Spencer..do you understand whats going on ,,,I smile and go yes your honor...then I whip out the piece of paper with the test case and go...your honor...correct me if im wrong ...but...at which point he stopped me and replies...Mr Spencer...the court is dropping all charges...you dont wish to press your luck...do you ?...I smiled and said...no your honor...and walked out.... ...as I exited the back door the prosecutor was standing there smoking a ciggarette and says to me as I pass....we could have gotteen you if we really wanted to you know...I smiled...and replied...yeah....thats why you dropped all charges...and kept walking to my black turbo sprts car..the one with the tinted windows...

When he came back in he accused me of calling the cop.
After being told to **** off, I'm afraid I would have had to lie... "Yep, I called 'em. So what?" And laughed in his face.

A parking ticket?
I want here about the ticket for 125 in 65 zone and you only pulled over to save the cop some mental anguish.

That, and parking in the striped area adjacent to a handicap spot. I recently warned a kid about that in front of the local Einsteins Bagel shop.John, good on ya My dad, and my mother in law use HC parking. If you want 6'2" and 275 lbs of real trouble, just lip off to me after I kindly explain that the Blue Stripped area is for wheel chair loading, not bike parking. Think HC parking is really a 'waiting zone' while your wife or girlfriend runs in to the store? Think again. I'm nice to start off... After all, there are many dolts that can't read, or don't think rules apply to them . If you don't move after I ask you politely, I'll stand right in front of you, and call local law. Usually, I am called all sorts of names, but nothing I have not heard before, and the butt head moves on. If one person has an easier time getting to their destination, because the HC spot is available, I figure I've done a good thing. I feel much better now... Thanks for letting me vent Black Dog

Thanks for letting me vent Black Dog She gets upset with me if I threaten to make the call. I finally got a little fed up with her protests one day and found the nearest spot about 75 yds. away from the store. The HC spot in question was only the width of a driveway from the store....and it was raining that day. After that, she doesn't say anything if I speak to them about it. One thing people don't realize or purposely don't obey...that HC hanger or sticker is only good if the person it belongs to is in the car. There has been times when I see some clown, male or female, get out of their car and go briskly into a nearby shop. I make the call and the cop is waiting when they come out, I love to see their reaction. If I ask the driver if it's their HC hanger, I usually get the same f...off reaction. If they ask if I'm a cop, I tell I don't need to be as long as I have my cell phone with me.

That has happened to me in the past, and after I tell them "Hey, I'm on your side", they do back down and say thank you. It's my own little crusade… One battle at a time. Black Dog
