I have a strong gas smell coming from my Valkyrie after riding for any distance. There is nothing dripping on the ground and cannot find anything on or around the engine. The first time it happened I pulled all the plugs to make sure I wasn't headed for the dreaded hydrolock. Everything looked good. Anyone had this problem? TIA

Check your intake O-rings.

Many have found the smell coming from a failing gas cap gasket.

Some have added/sistered a home made gasket of bicycle inner-tube rubber (or something) to complete the seal.  Do not drop a tiny screw in the tank.

Most likely a hygiene problem.

One other area to check that can give off a strong gas smell is the clamps on the intake tubes...check both the upper and lower clamps. You might find several that are pretty loose and causing the gas smell.

Same here added a gasket and no more gas smell.

The fuel rail O-rings going bad could give ya the odor before seeing gas puddle up on the engine or drip. Also place a piece of tape over the key hole in the gas cap. I get some odor out there every once in a while.

Soak the gas cap seals in Silicone, that will swell them for a better seal.
