OK, so who's up for it?  August 15th, Phyllis's house.  She may even have some options for cooling off, so if heat is keeping you away, reconsider...

We have a new carb sync gauge set that needs to be broken in.
I have a little more wiring to do, and wouldn't mind checking a few things before I (hope to) ride to Alabama.
I also just found out that I can't make our meeting this month, so I'd like to see the group and hear some Colorado stories.

Always a week late LOL.. Well I should be working on mine this Sunday the 9th along with some of my Magna friends things to do when you are broke for the week work on your bike  Grin if anyone wants to come up and join us I could probably use the help trying to get her ready for a Iron Butt to my dads in Alabama going the long way of course LOL.

If anybody want to join us this weekend and tell some lies and eye each others bikes. Shoot me a PM and I will give you directions and or my address in Conroe.

I'm in for the 15th.  I've got a weird brake noise I could have looked at and will be happy to help break in the sync tool!

Do we also have the special screw driver to adjust the pilot screws?

We're working on creating a cooler area for sitting to cool off.  Nothing fancy, just experimenting at this time.

If any one needs directions, email me or ask here and I'll send you a map.

8 a.m. to start.  Any earlier than that, you may run into one of our dogs out for a morning constitutional!

Feel free to bring the tent, I'm dying to see how you strap THAT to a Valk!!

I am negotiating for one now.

I have some pull with the proprietor of a tool rental shop in Manvel.  I'll ask him to drop one by the first thing in the morning of the 15th.

At the request of our tool rental shop, we're going to move our start time to 8 AM.  I won't promise to be there at 8 sharp, but I'll be there as close as I can.

Just a reminder that we'll be gathering tomorrow to sync carbs, etc. at Phyllis's house.
Other than carb work, what do we have going on?  I'll be doing some electrical work, and there are rumors of oil changes and washings to be going on.  If there are any other plans, holler, so we can try to muster the proper tools.

Just sorry that I can't join you.  I have a 'Santa' school all day Saturday and Sunday this week.

Even if I just sat under the tree, I would enjoy seeing all again.  Have a blast.

Carb synching was going on, plus Rocketman was working on brake pads.

Lots of talking, lots of eating, etc.

How was Santa school?

Got 3 bikes sinc'd, one of them took a long time and we ended up doing it twice.  All 3 running well.  Left around 5 p.m., hot, tired, and felt I learnt something.  We all drank plenty of water and had some good burgers (Thanks to Wizard).  Some had some strawberry ice box pie (or I think it was ice box pie) thanks to LynDel.  Met some new VRCC'rs and had a great time talking and learning!

Early Bird, we missed you!

As has been stated, we sync'd three bikes.  Took us a little longer than it ought to have, since we missed something early on, and had to re-do two.  The third (mine) seemed to be running OK, but exhibited some oddities on the way home.  I re-did the sync on Sunday, and she's running great now.  I think we've got a system down now.
I also got a new Stebel horn installed (salvaged from the green bike), and new rear brake pads (not salvaged).

Other than that, it was a whole lot of eatin' and jawin'.

All in all, a good day.

I'll post a few pictures when I get them off the camera.

Just getting a chance to read and post...

Great session, and great meeting more VRCC'rs. Really enjoyed Lyn-Del & Wizard's hospitality and good food.

I missed the sync on Mark's bike, but we did get the horn relay figgerd out.  uglystupid2

Had a hard time with Wizard's sync, then we found a vacuum leak at the gauges while syncing mine. Re-synced Wizard and all was well.

Then, going home, my bike started running bad... Found that the little white plug in one of my Red-eye vacuum caps had slipped out. Quick fix with another plug and some J-B weld, and all back to normal.

Great get together, looking forward to the next!
