This is a poll about % of people satisfied with their health care. Not the effectiveness or quality of their health care. If you asked Americans how satisfied they are with anything they always expect more. Besides this article is 6 years old. Take that same poll now that they are threatening to change their health care to some "unknown" system.

?????? Excuse me. You live closer to the Canadian border than me. Let me ask again.......How many times weekly/monthly/yearly do you PERSONALLY cross the border to get a BETTER healthcare delivery????? And this is a very REAL question........expecting an answer from you regarding YOUR personal experience................ Its called a dialogue. I asked a question and now you answer without dancing around it. Just let er' flow. I want YOUR personal experience here. Not some idiotic 'hype chart'. And I HAVE been to Canada PERSONALLY to meet with Robert Jackson, MD. He was and may still be the "R and D" doctor for Zimmer corporation. Dr Jackson was asked by Zimmer corporation to at the time 'use newly developed technologies associated with orthopedic surgeries. He practiced at the time at The Orthopedic Hospital off Younge Street in Toronto, Canada. I stayed at a very nice facility called the Sutton House just a few blocks from the Hospital. I was there to 'troubleshoot' some problems my facility in Russellville, Ar was having with OUR system. I am being specific because I WANT you to know I was ina FIRST person situation. I spent 2 days working with DR Jackson. While I was there one patient was in for his 12th Arthroscopic procedure. He was waiting til he could be scheduled for his Government funded Total Knee Arthroplasty. To help him 'limp ' along until he could get his procedure, Dr Jackson was scoping and cleaning out his knee about every 4-6 months. At the time, we had several interesting conversations. One was interesting. A patient he had knowledge of with a brain tumor was scheduled to have his CT scan in 6 months. He crossed over to Buffalo, NY saw a doctor and and had a new procedure called an MRI done all within two weeks. The MRI gave a much better resolution picture. This NEW technology at the time was not available in Canada yet. He then took his films back to Canada hoping to be able to see a doctor sooner. He was still put on a waiting list. He wound up going to Buffalo being refered by the initial doctor that saw him and having surgery for an encapsulated tumor. So yes yes yoru right Scanner. The government will run an EXCELLENT healthcare program. So tell me your favorite first person experience where a Canadian, British or Frenchman had an excellent outcome of their socialized medical experience. I'm waiting....crickets chirping......crickets......crickets...............

Oh and P.S.
In answer to your attempt to dance around the issue and your 'hype chart'. I propose the following:
I hate having a partial premium, deductible and 20% of the charges when I go to the hospital and doctor. However as a RESPONSIBLE adult, I know where my responsibilities lie. I KNOW I am responsible for my personal health and my personal debt. I KNOW I have/had to provide for my family. So if asked, I would say NO I am not happy with these things. HOWEVER I know this is something I have to supply for myself and my family. And though I am not happy with these responsibilities, I am LESS than happy with giving my tax dollar toward paying for another person's 'free ride', having no say in treatment, being denied treatment for a plethera of bureaucratic reasons, etc. And of course, any poll can prove what you want it to IF you manipulate the asking of the questions, manipulate the findings, and have an agenda when you review the information supplied by the poller.

Since there isn't even a bill yet that's an interesting poll. People want to vote against it without even knowing what's in it.
The Insurance companies, their lobbyist, and their corporate shills on right wing radio are very good at what they do.
And 2tone, why would I go to Canada for healthcare? I'm not a Canadian citizen and I have very good insurance thru my company - which pays about 2K a month to provide it to me. We may have had to strike a few times to keep it, but thats OK.
I guess spending two days in Canada makes you a expert on the system and how the public feels about it.
Gee, If you had gone farther North maybe you could have seen Russia and been a Foreign policy expert too!

ANGER in the USA....but, sometimes, it may be needed.... http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Lawmakers-face-angry-crowds-apf-2271825547.html?x=0"Specter said that in a long life in politics he hadn't seen anything like what he witnessed Tuesday and at a town hall last weekend that turned even uglier.
"There is more anger in America today than at any time I can remember," Specter said."

Um? Hmmm? That does swing the other way too, how can anyone support a bill that doesn't exist yet, and is wide open for later "changes". And why is it that the Osama regime keeps telling us about all the lies being spread, but yet won't tell us what IS in store for us? We should just quietly wait and hope that it's something good? Not me.

As for the supporters, they support reform and don't think things are fine as is. End of thread for me. Ride on.

Unlike yourself, I can speak from PERSONAL experience. All you can do is tout Nobama retoric. Yes yes. Your such the expert yourself. Canadian insurance does not exclude you just because your not Canadian. So drop your American coverage and cross the border when you need it. Save your self some money and you can become an expert yourself. Oh and one more thing........I dont have to be bit by a rattlesnake to knowtheir deadly. Why dont you come on down to SC and check it out for me. Take a walk in the woods for me. Oh yeah and swim across Lake Santee and check it out for alligators for me ok???

Ummm, Scanner old buddy, sorry to inform you but what is this link referring to if there isn't even a bill yet? Just curious where you get your info from. Try HR 3200 http://www.bright.house.gov/images/stories/h.r._3200_americas_affordable_health_choices_act.pdf

Stormrider, That's the proposed House bill. Senate doesn't have a bill yet. After both are ready then they will try to reconcile the two.

Those are House Resolutions, or proposed bills. They are not bills signed into law. Look at the status column.

So Scanner, the polls, discussions, etc, are they only to take place after the bill is signed into law, or is this still a country where we can discuss the issues before it is too late? ??? And if you wamt to make terminology the issue, then can't there be discussion about the House Resolution or Bill as most of us would know it? Just substitute HR for bill if that will make for clarification.

Guess I'll wait for the actual bill before deciding if I'll support it or not. The final product will be a completely different animal than what's in the House proposal.
There will be plenty of time between the reconciled bill and an actual vote to register my opinion.
