If you pull up the general board, click twice on either the replies heading or the views heading you will see them ranked from most to least.  The pinned posts stay at the top, so you'll have to look below them.  One stat that isn't readily available is the views to replies ratio.  I guess that one indicates the interest of people who have chosen to look but not to participate in a thread.

Here's what I find for the top ten by number of replies:

post                                                  originator                  reply rank   view rank    ratio

I Rode to Work Today                          Black Pearl's Captain            1            3         19.3
Motorcycle Pictures                             Black Pearl's Captain            2            1         32.3
I Think I'll Quit                                    Sugarbee                           3            2         35.2
Handles, How did you get                     ghostrider285                      4          10         17.8
Anyone Smell Bacon?                           MAD6Gun                           5            6         29.6

VRCC Pictorial Directory                       Willow                                8            7         33.8
Surgery in the Morning                         Smokinjoe                          9           67         13.1

black is better to see for sure- yellow is nearly invisible
when yours eyes get 50+ not too much is real easy!
black may be better to read but, contrary to the mis-held opinion of many here, it is not the fastest Valkyrie color!

You can either select a light background (my preference) or, as Wayne mentioned, use the mouse to highlight the text that's hard to read.

Not everyone (hopefully fewer and fewer) uses the default dark background.

I'm 58, but my eyes are only two.

I've never changed from the default "Dark Grey" background with "White Font". Works great for me. If I come across a post where someone tries to get "fancy" with a hard to read color, I just move on. Ain't gonna be a life changing event if I don't read it.

only problem is if they post in Yellow.  Then you have to highlight to see it.

I like the black background , white font, easy to read unless someone uses other color font, then I just skip it or high light.
