What does the data say?

Corinth, Texas

« on: July 06, 2014, 05:39:37 PM »

Welp, this Thursday, July 10, is the monthly meeting.  It's also the annual anointing of officers for the coming year.

Per tradition, Buzzkill will ascend to the Presidency from the Vice President's position and some unfortunate lucky soul will be elected VP.  We've got one nominee lined up, but would welcome a little friendly competition for the role.

The meeting will be at Fuddrucker's in Grapevine at 7 pm.

2001 N. Highway 121
Grapevine, TX 76501
(972) 724-0072

I hope to see some of the new members we've met recently at the meeting.

Let's start a headcount.

I understand this is an "election" meeting. Are outsiders allowed to attend? I'd like to come by and meet some of the "Texas" group. Let me know if it would be all right to attend.

Thanks,

Visitors and newcomers are always welcome to any meeting.  It's pretty informal as meetings go.  We mainly just chat while having dinner and talk about past and upcoming rides as such.

Cant wait to meet everyone! Anyone know of any bike junkyards around here? Could use a bunch of screws and stuff like that for this '88 'wing trike project I've aquired. May also need a motor for it too!

This is the only place I know of in Fort Worth.  I bought a starter from them for my '81 Goldwing years ago and it worked.  That's about it.

I will try and attend but it depends on how my father is doing.  My wife and I took him to the hospital almost two weeks a ago after he had a fender bender in my car.  He had some chest pain from the seat belt and now he has pneumomia.  He is in the ICU right now and he is getting better each day.

I've got the room at Fuddrucker's booked for 7:00 pm (1900 if the Gunny is monitoring this transmission) but they have another party booked there from 5:00 to 7:00 (1700 to 1900, blah, blah, blah.)

I anticipate we'll have to wait a few before it's clear and clean.

Thank you for your service as VP and then President, ValkPilot.  You did a good job.

Buzzkill, congrats on being President.

Planecrazygirl proved her name correct by accepting a nomination for VP this next year.  Brew1brew will need a least 2 brews as he also accepted the nomination for VP.  After a tie vote, we have 2 VPs for the year!  Congratulations to you both.

Thanks for the kind words, Rainmaker.

It was the best meeting in at least a year.  Lots of attendees; lots of bikes.  Good business was conducted and good fellowship had.

Upcoming events:

Ride to Greenwood on Saturday.  See the post on the forum.

Ride to either Palo Pinto or Hico, led by Rainmaker, on August 2.  See the post on the forum.

As Rainmaker said, Buzzkill ascended to the throne of the Presidency and now we'll suffer for a year under this mad tyrant.

Brew1brew and PlaneCrazyGal were elected co-Vice Presidents in a first-ever tie vote.  As good politicians, we deferred the difficult task of deciding how the ascension to the President's postion will happen -- maybe by next year it will be someone else's problem.

We also had a short presentation on hot weather riding tips.  It can be made available for download if there is any interest.

Finally, we collected names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses from all attendees.  We could have hacked NSA's databases for this, but were afraid we'd find out things we didn't really want to know, so we just asked.  This info will be used to try and revive an e-mail notification process for meetings and events.  If I don't have your info already (you know who you are,) please PM or e-mail me so I can include you.

Later, I'll post the list of those who were there.
