2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« on: July 10, 2014, 04:37:49 PM »

Going to look at this tomorrow...see what they offer me on a trade, if they even want the old girl.
http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/mcd/4548223700.html
Their price is below average retail, without the thousands in options.

Make sure the coffee maker works, and check to see if the matching yellow jacket and pants are included.  Evil

Just picking on you, good luck.

Wow! Nice bike, I understand why just not sure I could do it. Good luck, hope all goes well ... Your Valk is a true head turner, I could not let go if it were mine.  The Goldwing is a great choice to replace the Valk.
Ride safe n keep us posted on your outcome.

Very nice Doug. Good friend of mine has the exact same bike, he bought it brand new, and he has about 90K on it so far. As you know, you would make out much better selling your Valk out right to some one who can afford it and appreciate it. Keep us posted!

Do you have any info on the mileage? I like the pinstripping, very modest and brings out the colors.

Gil beat me to it, i was writing my comment and couldnt post it ciz he was posting his at the same time. I was saying the same thing, I think you too young for a gold wing.
I also know you have one of the most beautiful valks out there, tricked out and well cared for. I hate to see it go to someone that has no clue what you put into it but i am sure you have your reasons.
But it will be a sad day for me to see that beauty go  Cry
I may forgive you if it was a F6B and thats oly a MAY BE

It's obvious that they are falsely advertising. There is a Darkside sticker on the fender but a MC tire on the back. Roll Eyes

Hmmmm first time I clicked on that it just took me to the homepage hence the question about which one.
Will echo the sentiment and ask why the Goldwing when your bike does almost the same thing with more style and machismo?

Doug

I got to say that you have a unique and great looking Phat Girl.
If you do end up moving on to another ride, it is going to be weird seeing you roll on anything other than your Valk.
Good luck on your shopping and keep us posted cooldude

Interesting.  As Jeff said you of course would fare better selling yours then going in with cash but sometimes that is difficult to do.

My GW buddy Barry also says keep to the newer models for multiple reasons. I found this new HR signature series wing, fly in to russellville and drive home, and I really like this one. It has no trunk but full GW.  I know big money and payments if I were to do this but unless it was a huge Difference from the I/S...........  Also there are plenty of champagne blk I/S out there right now. Nudge nudge.. coolsmiley

A New  F6B Is Not Much More Money Than This Goldwing, No Miles, Warranty, And They Have Low Interest Rates. Just a Few Things That I Would Consider Before Buying A Used bike. Good Luck  On Your Decision Making.

cooldude I'm with ya Doug! Been shopping Goldwings sense returning from Asheville trip and actually a little before. Had two in the past, a 97' and a 98', then Bob M.'s wing really got my taste buds dripping!
One of the nicest black wings I have seen in a long time.

Good points, and worth waiting for. There seems to be a difference in quality from '06 and up.

Hey Eddie....who's that old geezer gal that drives a 90's silver Ford Crown Vic looking car?
She almost took me out when I left your house the other day! She swung wide on the corner when she turned right and didn't see me until the last second. I was headin' for the bushes LOL

Eddie, you need to give it a couple coats of Liquid Glass to help protect that OEM paint job.

2014 Valkyrie 1800

Seminole, Florida

« Reply #25 on: July 13, 2014, 10:03:51 AM »

I came close to buying a well decked out Goldwing, but it had 105,000 miles. I thought it had 10,500 miles. They offered me what they said was a great deal of $3,500 for my Valkyrie. I think not. Especially after learning more on that particular year, thanks TJ.

Willie had mentioned his very clean and highly blinged out Interstate was for sale, I thought that may be a less expensive option. It's the only color scheme I'm interested in regarding Interstates. I would still have to get beat up selling my bike as I do not want to own or maintain two bikes, especially 12 carburetors, 6 carbs would always be sitting.

I have now come to my senses and will be keeping my bike as I have gone through this machine from stem to stern and have invested many hours and dollars. I refuse to give it away for what they are fetching now.  We are getting ready to do a kitchen remodel that Andrea has been desperately waiting for, I just don't need to be spending money at this time.
I really do love my Valkyrie, It does everything I want it to and owes me nothing.
Thanks for all the Input
