that accept the screws that hold the speakers into the fairing. I've looked at H D L and another fiche AND I was at my dealer and-NO JOY. Do any of are members here have a part number or something else that can be used?? Either I'm entering stuff wrong in my search parameter or hell-I don't know so thought I'd query this storehouse of knowledge available here. As always-T I A for any and all assistance. RIDE SAFE./

Those are not at all like the Honda OEM part.
The Honda piece is a two part assembly.
The inner piece when screwing in the bolt, pushes and expands
the outer sleeve (the threaded piece) to grab a better
bite into the plastic hole.
When reusing the OEM part you should first push the inner
piece back to it's original position within the sleeve to allow
the OD to be reduced and then glue it in.
When you insert the threaded bolt it will push the insert
and expand the legs of the sleeve to increase the hold of the
assembly. Naturally an antiseize is highly recommended
when assembly to facilitate removal when necessary.

While turning, place a putty knife between the inner and outer fairing, applying outward pressure to allow the screw to come out of the insert.
If it doesn't come out, then the whole assembly will need to be removed (pull) instead.

You'll have to pull the whole thing out and glue the insert in as described above. To avoid this problem,I used jb weld on the inserts and make sure I take the fairing off once a year. Oh, and never seize on the screws helps too.

Been there! NITRO has the answer for the fix IMO. Keep the JB Weld out of the threads

You should be able to find similar State side. Either the Aluminium, rubber or pre bulbed would be good options. You do not need the custom tools to set these, just a bolt and spacer set up to pull and expand the insert. I have used the stainless ones with a homemade tool http://profast.com.au/product-category/nut-inserts/Cheers Steve

Preciate it Jimmy but on my ride today I stopped at the dealer and ordered a couple already. The part # Punisher gave me is a good one!! Yet another reason I truly love this board and the folks that populate it. Okey Dokey-back to our regular scheduled programming. MIGHT have had one icy cold adult beverage too many---NAAH!!
