I have a Cream and Blue 98 std.  My alt cover was in bad shape so I ordered one from Gary. I would like to paint it the blue that is on my fenders but my local dealship is worthless and wanted to know if anyone knew where to get Honda paints.

Thanks in advance

You can get it here, but they are proud of it.

I'm Proud of Colorite' Pride.

I did all this with http://www.colorrite.com/ rattle cans in my garage with the bikes covered from paint dust and a chemical mask.
Primer, Base Color [Cream], Top Color [Cream], Sonoma Green & Clear Coat.

It's a ton of prep & finish wet sanding and polishing. Spraying is not too bad. You can actually surpass the stock paint job by completely sanding out the "Orange Peel". I would sand out the stock orange peel & polish, but am afraid to risk it because I don't know how much clear was used and I'm not up to re-painting the entire bike. Colorites color match is spot on. IMO

Thanks everyone, I am now considering chroming the part, however if I don't I will order from colorrite. I found the color I need on their website. Thanks again

If you going to re-chrome maybe it would be better then the stock vacuum chrome application. I would hope.

If not and you don't want to spend the time or dollars painting you can order a new alt. cover for about $35.00. Either through a dealer or http://www.directlineparts.com/
