Weather was uncooperative here in CT-land today, so decided to take on a couple 'add on' bits to the Valkyrie.

I ordered some new grips for the bike, and sent Tony at Ironbraid some aftermarket levers to have some braid added.

New Kuryakyn Iso Grips and Ironbraid pictured below.  I like the feel of the grips (have had them on several other bikes) and always loved Ironbraid, too.

Looking good man! I have the same black iso grips, love them! I've been riding with iso grips on my two previous bikes. Was the first thing I bought for the new valk.

Here's the one bro ...

Found these at J&PCycles.com, cost is about $72 for the black grips.

PN: ZZ50185  Universal ISO Grip, BLK

BTW, I did not cut my old grips off.  I popped off the clutch chrome end with a towel and a channel lock pliers.  It comes off easily.  The throttle end unscrews.

Then, just take an 8" or so ... narrow bladed screw driver to run up the rubber grip to the end.  Spray some WD-30 up there ... just a bit.  Then just use your hand and turn back and forth a bit, then they come right off.

Clean the old areas with alcohol, or Gunk, or what ever ... get all the old glue off.  Sand it, or whatever.   Clean with alcohol at the end.  Get off as much as possible.  All is best.

I just pushed and twisted on the clutch ISO grip.  No glue.  It fits tight.  You may want to glue it, but I did not.

The throttle ISO was glued on with the stuff Kuryakyn provided.  Put it on the lower end and away from the top end.  Put a bit down in side, but not near the top.  You don't want to glue the grip to the bar ... other wise, it don't move, bro.  Follow the directions and mover fairly fast.  The glue sets quickly.

I think Kuryakyn has a vid on this.  But, pretty simple even for someone like me who's certainly mechanically challenged.

I think you'll like 'em.  They obviously look kewl, and feel good as well.  Good luck.

Just a tip here if you have an air compressor just put a narrow tip on and blow air under the rubber after the end of the grip is off and then just slip it off as you are blowing the air, only takes about 10seconds.

I've used the air compressor trick, too.

Not sure if it'll work for glued on grips or not.  But, I've use it several times with good results.  Of course, ot everyone has an air compressor and the narrow tip.

I know this is a very old thread, but I don't see anything newer and I didn't want to start a new one ---

Are the grips on the Valk the same as all other Honda 1" grips? Specifically the throttle -- is the grip glued onto the throttle tube, so if you replace it the throttle tube stays on the bike and only the grip part gets replaced?

The reason I asked is because I had a pair of Show Chrome Comfort Grips on my VTX1800 some years ago along with the Wrist Cruise palm rests, and I liked them even better than the Kury ISO's. Thinking they'll be a nice add on the Valk.
