Anyone looking for a Boss? A small used car and bike dealer in town has one for sale. I don't know much about a Boss's value to know if it a good buy. just passing it along.
we are about 50 miles south of Chicago

I have never been on one, but I am surprised to hear you say they handle badly.  I have had several other people tell me just the opposite.  Mostly I hear them described as heavy, but easy to ride.  How much have you ridden one, and through what road conditions; all highway, twisties, in town, or what?

Are you asking about the refrigerator or the Boss?

Rode a friends Boss "around the block".  Honestly not much of a test ride so it was just a first impression. He didn't have a problem with it so probably just a matter of getting used to it.

Much more experience riding my refrigerator

I did a 20 mile test ride on one once.  It may just be the one I was riding but it was scraping pegs on fairly minor turns.  As Joe said, heat was a factor.  Acceleration was phenominal though.  I got it out on the open road - nothing behind me, nothing in front of me, and whacked the throttle open.  I was doing 90 before I realized what was going on.  It happened so fast I forgot to shift into second.  It was like hitting the powerband on a dirt bike.

Thanks guys.
I think I will try to add a 3 cylinder to my bunch before adding an 8. There was an old Kawasaki back in the late 60’s early 70’s that was a real screamer.  Of course, the new Triumph 3 would be nice too!  cooldude
I would love to have one built around a small block like the 273 or 302.  It would probably have the same heat problems unless it was ducted away from the rider like our Inter States are, but hey, comfort is not what a scooter like that is about!

kawi made an H-1 500 and an H-2 750. nice 2 strokers. suzuki made an SS350, SS550(or GT550) and a GT-750 water buffalo. personally, the water buffalo is the most impressive one, being 2 stroke and watercooled. plus the power was sickening. the H-2 750 I drag raced for a while, had 1 that was 100 over, ran 9's and a promod that was 1172 cc ran high 7's. total sickness. sold them both. liked the slower 4 strokers to race...  Wink

Kawi also made a KZ1000 that is still used in some drag bike configurations.
I have a 79 KZ-750 sitting in my storage that has 12.000 miles on it. I need to get it out and ride it.

no problem,, My riding buddy has a Rocket 3. I like it but wont trade my valk for one. It is fun to ride though.

Those old KZ 1000 could make some serious noise when they had headers on them

Off hand I can think of a bunch of real motorcycles that I'd try than a BH.
A Kaw V2k, Rocket III, a couple of Victories, V-Max, BMW SS1000RR,....oh and the new Triumph Thunderbird.

You know,....real motorcycles!

I keep wondering why someone does not take one of those 300 horse outboard motor mercury engines and a radiator and put it on a bike.  crazy2
