Has anyone paralleled another OEM horn on the left side on bike off the one on right?  Is a relay needed or is two OEM horns not drawing enough current to matter.

I installed a second OEM "beeper" type horn on the other side of the engine several years ago, because I tired of the "always" failing from sand and road crap and/or the horrible high pitch of the air horns.  I do have a relay, which was required for the use of the air horns.  I still don't like the sound of the OEM's but believe me the two of them together are LOUD and because they are aimed forward that loud sound projects forward!  It is likely that you would not have to have a relay, most likey because of the low draw by each horn and how rarely they are used.  JMHO

I have a take off horn laying on my work bench getting in my way (I removed it after the install of my 4 note Buick horns)  I'll have to look and see which USPS flat rat box it'll fit in.  The cost of shipping and its yours.  Shoot me a PM with your address. It may even be cheaper to meet if you're close.

Like YoungPuP said everyone on here has 1 or 2 in their garage. You should check out BigBF`s dual or quad horns. They are loud and you don't see them cooldude

BigBf's quad horn setup will get the Blue Haired old ladies in Florida's attention real quick.

I had one pull in front or tried to pull in front without using her turn signal.  Almost rubbed my engine guards on her left front door.

Laid on the BigBf's quads and she jerked her car back across 2 lanes and stopped when she hit the shoulder.

I have a good notion she had to go change her Depends or he panties.

Hey Guys,

sorry to resurrect this thread from the dead, but I have also been wanting to add a horn to the left side to make it more symmetrical looking.

I found these connectors on ebay which would make it super easy for tapping into the OEM horn wiring.  Plug and play:

Did you guys ever confirm that you can run two oem horns parallel without a relay? I mean, it's gotta be pulling less than 1-2 amps each right?

Also, is it possible to mount the horn to the frame identical to how it is on the right side...?  Not really wanting to put it on the engine guard bar.

Thanks!

You really should use a relay.

The 10A Horn fuse also feeds brake light and turn signals.
Last thing you need is for that fuse to blow when you blow the horn.

Big BF supply's this connector with his quad horns to enable connecting the trip wire of the relay of the quad horns. Let's you leave the stock horn active.

Thanks for the input everybody. I tested the current draw on the stock horn with my multimeter and found it to be just barely under 1 amp.
After thinking it over, I've decided to use the splitter to trigger the relay for my stebel nautilus yet leaving the stock horn operational as a backup/failsafe (I know you guys are stoked on Big BF's quad horns and I'm sure they are great but I had bought this stebel a couple months ago and just haven't put it on yet).
Also, mounting some led driving lights on the engine guard proved to me that I don't have room to add another oem horn; I don't even have room for the original one! I had to remove it to get the lights where I wanted them. I'm gonna mount the stock horn next to the ignition key switch and the stebel on the opposite side next to the petcock. I've seen this on other threads and think it looks pretty slick.

I put a Stebel Nautilus on my bike next to the fuel tap where most others put it. I was wondering if it would be loud enough enough here in Australia as that's the side that faces the kerb rather than the traffic.

I used it recently when a guy in a mustang decided to change lanes into my lane as I was riding past him. One blast on that horn and it was like the whole car got a fright! it seemed to jump and jerk back into its own lane very quickly.

The guy pulled up next to me at the lights further down the road and was very apologetic.

Suffice to say, I'm pleased I changed from stock (which no-one seemed to notice).
